翻译伦理视角下的林纾及其翻译

【摘要】：林纾是我国近代半殖民地半封建社会时期最有影响力的翻译家之一,他是翻译西方文学作品的第一人,向国人介绍了西方新的思想和文学理念等。本文从翻译伦理角度研究林纾及其翻译,以期对这位中国现代伟大译者的研究方面提供新的思路。本文首先对翻译伦理研究的现状进行归纳总结,接着以林纾的翻译作为具体案例进行分析。论文主体部分从翻译动机,文本选择,翻译策略以及文本接受度等几个方面讨论了林纾的翻译活动,并结合翻译实例从翻译伦理的角度进行分析林纾自身的伦理观如爱国情操和新旧思想观念以及社会文化背景如当时中国所处的时代和当时中国读者群体的文化道德价值等。比如,林纾选取某些西方作品进行翻译来达到他唤醒国人爱国精神、向西方学习先进思想等的翻译目的；采用极端的归化策略,对原文进行删改和归化以求适应中国传统文化规范,使读者易于接受翻译文本等。此外,论文总结了林纾的翻译特色,从翻译伦理角度来探讨他的翻译文本为什么会被读者广泛接受。论文进一步说明林纾的翻译对中国整个社会和国民思想有深刻的启示和影响。最后,论文全面总结了本研究的发现并指出本文的局限和未来研究展望。
[Abstract]:Lin Shu was one of the most influential translators in the period of modern semi-colonial and semi-feudal society in China. He was the first person who translated western literary works and introduced new western ideas and literary ideas to Chinese people. This paper studies Lin Shu and his translation from the perspective of translation ethics, with a view to providing a new approach to the study of the great modern Chinese translator. Then the author analyzes Lin Shu's translation as a case study. The main part of the thesis discusses Lin Shu's translation activities from the aspects of translation motivation, text selection, translation strategy and text acceptance. From the perspective of translation ethics, Lin Shu's own ethical views, such as patriotism, old and new ideas, as well as social and cultural background, such as the times in which China was in and the cultural and moral values of the Chinese readers at that time, were analyzed in the light of translation examples. For example, Lin Shu selects some Western works for translation to achieve his translation purpose of arousing the patriotic spirit of his countrymen and learning advanced ideas from the West, and adopts an extreme domestication strategy. The original text should be deleted and domesticated in order to adapt to the traditional Chinese cultural norms and make it easy for readers to accept the translated text. In addition, the thesis summarizes Lin Shu's translation characteristics and discusses why his translation text is widely accepted by readers from the perspective of translation ethics. The thesis further explains that Lin Shu's translation has profound implications for the whole Chinese society and national thought. Finally, the paper summarizes the findings of this study and points out the limitations and future research prospects.
