创伤和修复:解读辛格的《冤家:一个爱情故事》

【摘要】:20世纪美国著名犹太裔作家艾萨克·巴什维斯·辛格(Isaac Bashevis Singer)的创作以独特的创作视角,敏锐的洞察力,幽默的语言,哲理丰富的内蕴一直受到国际文学评论界的关注。他的作品中体现出了独特的创作特色,反映出波兰的文化传统以及对于人类面临的普遍境遇持有着热烈的关切,这使得他成为继索尔·贝娄(Saul Bellow)之后第二位获得诺贝尔文学奖的美国犹太作家。辛格用几近消亡的意地绪语勾画出17世纪到20世纪上半叶的犹太社会,以其深厚的犹太情节反映出他对于犹太民族历史境遇的同情,甚至把它与当今人类的生存相联系,关注整个人类的命运。 《冤家:一个爱情故事》探索的是纳粹大屠杀幸存者来到美国后与他们先前在第二次世界大战期间的亲身经历之间的关系。故事主要围绕男主人公赫尔曼与三个女主人公之间纠缠的感情关系为线索,反映了战后犹太人处于美国的环境中如何审视犹太历史、确立文化身份、寻求心灵家园时所遭遇到的诸多困境。作为纳粹大屠杀的亲历者和见证人,不管是在肉体上还是精神上,小说中的主要人物都承受着二战期间纳粹入侵对于犹太人采取迫害政策的伤痛。本论文以创伤理论为基础,结合小说中人物的创伤经历和症状表现来揭示主人公的内心创伤,同时也描绘了他们各自的修复之旅。 本论文由五章组成。 第一章导论主要是对作者和小说的概述、对作者作品的国内外研究现状的综述,以及对本论文的独创性和结构的介绍。 第二章主要是对创伤理论的概述。本章主要介绍了创伤的定义,创伤理论经历了三个阶段的发展过程,创伤的一般症状如反应过度、侵入和约束,以及创伤修复的一般策略如讲述创伤故事、哀悼创伤损失、重建联系、解决创伤。 第三章主要探讨小说中主要人物的创伤症状以及创伤对其造成的影响。小说中出现的创伤症状主要有重复体验、回避以前经历的创伤事件和高度警戒。小说中的男主人公赫尔曼和三个女主人公雅德维珈、塔玛拉,玛莎均在不同程度上体现着这些创伤症状,他们解决处理这些症状困扰的办法也因人而异。 第四章主要探索了小说中人物的创伤修复状况并进行了原因的解读。赫尔曼和玛莎创伤修复过程中由于自身的各种原因不但未能使创伤愈合反而最终造成了各自离开和自杀的悲惨结局,塔玛拉和雅德维珈因勇于面对新生活、乐于主动与他人重建联系而最终日渐取得了创伤的愈合,走向了新的明天。 第五章是结论部分,主要是对本论文的意义分析。作者最终暗示只有正确面对创伤才可能最终取得愈合,走向美好的明天。 本论文以理论与文本细读相结合的方式,不仅为小说《冤家:一个爱情故事》的解读提供了一个新的维度,同时也具有一定的社会现实意义,鼓励人们对于创伤采取积极面对处理的态度。
[Abstract]:The creation of the famous American Jewish writer Isaac Bashevis Singh (Isaac Bashevis Singer) in the 20th century has attracted the attention of the international literary critics with its unique creative perspective, keen insight, humorous language and rich philosophical connotation. His works embody unique creative features, reflect Polish cultural traditions and have a strong concern for the general situation facing humanity, This makes him the second American Jewish writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature after Saul Bellow (Saul Bellow). Singh sketched Jewish society from the 17th century to the first half of the 20th century in the almost extinct Yiddish language, reflecting his sympathy for the historical situation of the Jewish nation with its deep Jewish plot, and even linking it to the existence of human beings today. Attention to the fate of humanity. "enemies: a Love Story" explores the relationship between Holocaust survivors coming to the United States and their previous experiences during World War II. The story mainly revolves around the emotional relationship between Herman the hero and the three heroines. It reflects how the Jewish people in the post-war environment in the United States examine Jewish history and establish their cultural identity. Many of the dilemmas encountered in the search for a spiritual home. As a witness and witness to the Holocaust, the main characters in the novel suffer from the persecution of Jews during the Nazi invasion during World War II, both physically and mentally. Based on the theory of trauma, this thesis combines the traumatic experiences and symptoms of the characters in the novel to reveal the inner trauma of the protagonists. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the author and the novel, a summary of the domestic and foreign research on the author's works, and an introduction to the originality and structure of this paper. The second chapter is an overview of trauma theory. This chapter mainly introduces the definition of trauma, the theory of trauma has gone through three stages of development, the general symptoms of trauma such as overreaction, invasion and restraint, as well as the general strategy of wound repair, such as telling the story of trauma, mourning the loss of trauma. Reconnect and resolve the trauma. The third chapter mainly discusses the trauma symptoms of the main characters in the novel and the impact of trauma on them. The main trauma symptoms in the novel are repeated experience, avoidance of previous traumatic events and high vigilance. The protagonists Herman and the three heroines Yadviga Tamara and Martha all embody these traumatic symptoms to varying degrees and their solutions to these symptoms vary from person to person. The fourth chapter mainly explores the trauma repair of the characters in the novel and explains the reasons. Instead of healing the wounds, Herman and Martha ended up leaving and committing suicide for a variety of reasons. Tamara and Yadviga were brave enough to face a new life. Willing to take the initiative to re-connect with others and eventually gradually achieve wound healing, toward a new tomorrow. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, mainly analyzes the significance of this paper. The author finally suggests that only by correctly facing the trauma can we finally heal and move towards a better tomorrow. This thesis not only provides a new dimension for the interpretation of the novel "friend: a Love Story", but also has a certain social practical significance. Encourage people to take a positive attitude toward dealing with trauma.
