[Abstract]:The Water margin is regarded as an encyclopedia reflecting the feudal society of China. It is one of the four classical masterpieces of China with its vivid characters, vivid storylines and unique style. Now it has been translated into English, France, Germany, Russia, Japan and other languages in many countries and regions around the world. Among the many English versions, the version translated by Chinese American expert Mr. Sidney Shapiro and published in 1980 by Beijing Foreign language Publishing House is relatively high. According to the author's available data, the traditional study of sand translation is mainly from the perspectives of semiotics, manipulation theory, teleology, heterozygote theory and so on, but rarely from the perspective of ecological translation. From the perspective of ecological translation, this paper discusses the whole translation process of Sidney Shapiro, aiming to examine the translation of Sha from a new perspective, and further verify the explanatory power and feasibility of the empirical study of ecological translation theory. Ecological translation theory is a new translation theory in the 21st century. This theory was initiated by foreign scholars, improved by domestic scholars and developed into the first domestic original translation theory. Professor Hu Gengshen introduced the concepts of "survival of the fittest" and "natural selection" in Darwin's theory of evolution into the field of translation studies. On the basis of this, he puts forward the concept of ecological translation, which defines translation as the choice of the translator to adapt to the ecological environment of translation. The translation ecological environment includes the source language system, the target language system, the source language system, the original text, the sponsor, the translator and the target text as a whole. Under the guidance of ecological translation theory, translator is the center of translation activities. The translator first adapts to the translation ecological environment and then chooses as the translation ecological environment. That is to say, translation activity is the process of the translator's alternating cycle of adaptation and self-selection. Therefore, this paper will analyze Sha's translation from two aspects: adaptation and selection. In the stage of selective adaptation, the author first assumes that the ecological translation theory is suitable for the study of sand translation by using the theoretical interpretation function of ecological translation. This part will focus on the translator's adaptation to external needs, internal needs and ability. This part answers the question of why. In the stage of adaptive selection, this paper uses case study and text analysis to analyze the translation phenomenon of sand translation from three aspects: linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension, and discusses how Sidney Shapiro makes adaptive selection of the original text. Thus, the empirical explanatory power of ecological translation theory can be further verified. This part answers the question of how to translate. This paper consists of the following chapters: the first chapter briefly introduces the research background, purpose, significance, methods and textual framework. Chapter two is a literature review, which mainly introduces the history and present situation of sand translation and ecological translation. The third chapter is the theoretical framework, including the background of the emergence of ecological translation, translation ecological environment, adaptation and three-dimensional transformation and other basic connotations. The fourth chapter is the main part of this paper, mainly from the translation of the various factors of the ecological environment of the selective adaptation and the original text of the multi-dimensional adaptation of two aspects of in-depth analysis of the text. The fifth chapter is the conclusion of this paper, summarizes the results of this paper, deficiencies and future research ideas. The study shows that the theory of ecological translation provides a new perspective for the study of Water margin and the translation of Sha, and confirms the feasibility of the theory of ecological translation in the study of Chinese classical chapters and novels.
