论语境在文学翻译中的作用

【摘要】：语境是现代语言学、语义学、修辞学、语用学等学科研究中经常遇到的一个概念。虽然语境的应用范围很广,但是对语境这一概念没有一个确切统一的定义,它多在某一学科内有自己的解释。在本文中作者将从语境角度研究翻译。在文学翻译中由于语言的多义性而产生很多与此相关的问题。在翻译中语境在选择所需语言意义上起着重要的作用。正如巴尔胡达罗夫所说:“语境在解决语言单位的多义性方面起着重要的作用。除各种有意或无意的歧义外,语境是排除多义单位中其它意义而只保留一个意义的手段。因此,语境可以使某语言单位只有一个意义,从而有可能从某个单位在译语中几个可能的对应物中选择一个等值物。当然,语境的作用远不限于解决词和其它语言单位的多义性问题,但是它最重要的功能恰恰在此。”(1975:170.) 文学作品中每个词都与其周围语境有着千丝万缕的联系。文学作品是一个以审美为目的的言语封闭系统,甚至每个人名都具有丰富的意义和复杂的联想。在文学作品中形象是词汇最广义的运用,艺术性就在于用形象表现其思想。在作品中作者用各种各样的语言手段,最丰富的语言来塑造形象。因此我们尝试研究语境在文学作品翻译中的作用和影响,使得在文学作品的翻译过程中尽量保留原文的亮点,美感和作者独特的个人风格。本论文主要分为四个部分:第一部分论述了语境的不同的定义、分类、国内外研究的历史现状和语境与翻译的关系;第二章阐述了文学作品的特点,以及由其特点决定的语境在文学作品翻译中的作用;第三章研究了语言语境在文学翻译中的作用;第四章分析了非语言语境在文学作品中的作用。由于翻译实践和其他学科理论方面的不足,本论文的观点还不完全成熟,正如人们常说的“世上没有绝对的完美”,因此还有待于我们进一步研究和完善。
[Abstract]:Context is a concept often encountered in the study of modern linguistics, semantics, rhetoric, pragmatics, etc. Although context has a wide range of applications, there is no definite and uniform definition of the concept of context. In this paper, the author will study translation from the perspective of context. In literary translation, there are many problems related to it due to the multiplicity of language. Language plays an important role. As Balkudarov said, "context plays an important role in resolving the polysemy of linguistic units. In addition to any intentional or unintentional ambiguity," Context is a means of excluding other meanings in a polysemous unit and retaining only one meaning. Therefore, context can make a linguistic unit have only one meaning. Thus it is possible to select an equivalent from several possible equivalents of a unit in the target language. Of course, the role of context is not limited to solving the problem of polysemy of words and other linguistic units, but its most important function is precisely here. " Every word in a literary work is inextricably related to its surrounding context. Literature is a closed system of speech for aesthetic purposes. Even everyone's names have rich meanings and complicated associations. In literary works, image is the broadest use of vocabulary, and artistry lies in the expression of ideas by image. In the works, the author uses all kinds of language means. Therefore, we try to study the role and influence of context in literary translation, so as to keep the bright spot, aesthetic feeling and unique personal style of the author in the process of literary translation as far as possible. This thesis is mainly divided into four parts: the first part discusses the different definitions of context, classification, the historical status of domestic and foreign research and the relationship between context and translation, the second chapter describes the characteristics of literary works. Chapter three studies the role of linguistic context in literary translation. Chapter 4th analyzes the role of non-linguistic context in literary translation. Due to the deficiency of translation practice and other theories, the viewpoint of this thesis is not fully mature. As people often say, "there is no absolute perfection in the world", so we still need to further study and perfect it.
