目的论视角下《查理和巧克力工厂》两个译本的比较

【摘要】:儿童文学是指专门为儿童而创作的文学作品。本文旨在运用德国功能主义学派的目的论,分析《查理与巧克力工厂》两个中文译本的翻译,探究儿童文学翻译的目的对翻译策略的影响。 目的论强调任何翻译都要首先考虑其翻译的目的,翻译本身就是一项必须考虑读者要求的目的性交际活动。儿童文学译文的读者是儿童,而儿童自身的认知水平较低,世界观尚未完全形成,并且儿童文学的魅力在于其不羁的想象和充满童趣的语言风格。 《查理与巧克力工厂》的两个著名中文译本年代相近,但是在印刷数量和再版重印次数上大相径庭。本文通过对两个译文中具体例子的比较分析得出,如果译者的目的是能够让儿童读者读懂并产生兴趣,并且让译文的小读者能够在阅读中获得享受,就需要译者对儿童文学翻译的特殊性有足够的了解,运用孩子通俗易懂、喜闻乐见的语言讲述故事。比如注意尽量多地使用具体、形象的词语来描绘故事中人物的状态,避免使用抽象词语进行概括;多使用儿童常用的口语化词语,避免使用过于正式的书面语或者古文中的词语;多使用儿童喜闻乐见的拟声词、叠词,增加作品的节奏感和可读性,尽量避免音译词和儿童完全陌生的原语文化词汇和文化现象;多使用标准的目的语言句式,避免带有翻译腔的被字句和让孩子感到困惑的大量指代不清的代词;儿童文学另外的一大特色就是插图,选择在孩子眼中更有趣的插图,避免使用呆板缺乏生气的插图;注意文字间距和字体的大小,避免过于拥挤的排版。如果译者的目的是对孩子说教,生硬地向孩子灌输成人的知识和思想,翻译者就会采取不同的翻译策略而翻译风格则也会相反。 20世纪以来,儿童的独立人格愈发得到重视,当今社会已经走向了尊重儿童独立人格的时代,想要翻译出一部成功的儿童作品就必须把孩子的需求作为翻译的首要目的。而把孩子作为成人的缩小版,不考虑其知识水平和认识能力,一味地以向孩子灌输成人知识和思想为目的,则很难产生受儿童喜爱的译作。
[Abstract]:Children's literature refers to literary works specially created for children. Based on the Skopos theory of German functionalism, this paper aims to analyze the translation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and to explore the influence of the purpose of children's literature translation on translation strategies. Skopos theory emphasizes that any translation should first consider the purpose of its translation, and translation itself is a purposeful communicative activity which must be considered by the readers. Children are the readers of children's literary translations, but children's own cognitive level is low, the world outlook has not been completely formed, and the charm of children's literature lies in its unrestrained imagination and childlike language style. The two famous Chinese versions of Charlie and Chocolate Factory are similar in age, but differ greatly in the number of prints and the number of reprints. Based on the comparative analysis of the specific examples in the two translations, this paper concludes that if the translator's purpose is to make the child readers understand and develop interest, and if the small readers of the translation can enjoy the reading, It is necessary for translators to have a good understanding of the particularity of children's literature translation and to tell stories in children's easy-to-understand and popular language. For example, pay more attention to the use of concrete, vivid words to describe the state of the characters in the story, avoid the use of abstract words to generalize, and use more colloquial words commonly used by children. Avoid the use of overly formal written or archaic words; use more onomatopoeia words and reduplicated words that children like, to increase the rhythm and readability of the work, Try to avoid transliteration words and children's complete unfamiliar cultural vocabulary and cultural phenomenon, use more standard target language sentences, avoid the translation of the words and children feel confused by a large number of ambiguous pronouns; Another feature of children's literature is illustrations, choosing the ones that are more interesting to the child, avoiding rigid, lifeless illustrations, paying attention to text spacing and font size, and avoiding overcrowded typography. If the translator's aim is to preach to the child and imbue the child with the knowledge and thought of the adult, the translator will adopt different translation strategies and the translation style will be reversed. Since the 20th century, the independent personality of children has been paid more and more attention. Nowadays, the society has moved towards the era of respecting the independent personality of children. If we want to translate a successful children's work, we must take the needs of children as the primary purpose of translation. However, it is difficult to produce a favorite translation of children for the purpose of inculcating adult knowledge and thoughts in children, regardless of their knowledge and cognitive ability.
