【摘要】:语义韵最初是由Louw在1993年提出使用的,他认为,词汇的语义韵就是搭配词所传染的习惯语义。由于语义韵具有表达态度和评价事件的语用功能特征,所以通过对英汉对应词的研究能够更好地掌握它们之间的用法和区别。本研究采取定性的方式对构句中的“连”和“even”进行比较。本研究基于语用学理论研究框架,采取语料库语料收集方式,从具有英汉两种语言代表性的语料库,即“国家语委现代汉语通用平衡语料库”(MCC)和“美国当代英语语料库”(COCA)中分别随机检索出的440条关于“连”和“even”的真实语料为研究起点,对这两个词的语义偏好、语义韵和语境进行了对比研究并总结其特点。基于语料的对比分析,本研究得出以下结论:第一,“连”具有消极语义韵,而“even”更多的是呈现混合语义韵。第二,积极语义和消极语义主要通过句中节点词的右侧来表达,中性语义则贯穿整句当中。在表达方式上,“连”的语义通过节点词右侧“连+X+也/都+Y”的模式传达,而“even”的语义主要通过动词短语和形容词短语传达。第三,“连”和“even”在表达同种语义时,所搭配的短语在语义偏好方面既有相同又有不同。最后,在语境方面,“连”和“even”在加强语义表达时,都对历史和背景知识进行强调。不同的是,在传达语义上,“连”通过强调参与者的关系、社会地位、地点、风俗和文学作品几方面来达到目的,而“even”则通过强调宗教和话题条件来表达语义。本研究在以下三方面有所启示。第一,立足于之前对“连”和“even”在基本意义层面的讨论,本研究将这两个词的研究范围扩展至语境层面。第二,在语言教学方面,本研究通过分析“连”和“even”所呈现的显著语义偏好,以便更好得掌握这两个词。并且,由于他们的语义韵可以从真实语境中得以辨别,教师可采用语料库中的例句来帮助学生全面掌握词汇。最后,本研究对英汉跨语言同义词的翻译有所启示:译者在选择对等词时应把语义韵和语境纳入考虑范围。
[Abstract]:Semantic prosody was originally proposed by Louw in 1993, he argues. Lexical semantic prosody is the customary semantics transmitted by collocation, because semantic prosody has the pragmatic function of expressing attitude and evaluating events. Therefore, through the study of English and Chinese equivalents, we can better understand their usage and differences. This study takes a qualitative approach to the construction of "continuous" and "even" This study is based on the theoretical framework of pragmatics. In this paper, we adopt the method of corpus data collection from the corpus which is representative of both English and Chinese languages. That is the National language Commission General balanced Corpus of Modern Chinese (MCCC) and the Contemporary American English Corpus (COCA). The real data of "Lian" and "even" were selected as the starting point. This paper makes a comparative study on the semantic preference, semantic prosody and context of these two words and summarizes their characteristics. Based on the comparative analysis of the corpus, this study draws the following conclusions: first, "Lian" has negative semantic prosody. "even" is more of a mixture of semantic prosody. Second, positive and negative semantics are mainly expressed by the right side of the node words in the sentence, and neutral semantics run through the whole sentence. The meaning of "Lian" is conveyed by the pattern of "even X and / or even Y" on the right side of the nodal word, while the semantics of "even" is mainly conveyed by verb phrases and adjective phrases. When "Lian" and "even" express the same semantics, the collocation phrases have the same and different semantic preferences. Finally, in context, "Lian" and "even" strengthen semantic expression. All emphasize history and background knowledge. The difference is that in terms of communication semantics, "Lien" by emphasizing the relationship between participants, social status, location, customs and literary works to achieve the goal. "even" expresses semantics by emphasizing religion and topic conditions.This study has some enlightenments in the following three aspects. First, it is based on the previous discussion of "Lian" and "even" at the basic meaning level. This study extends the study of these two words to context level. Secondly, in language teaching, this study analyzes the significant semantic preferences of "Lian" and "even". In order to better grasp the two words, and because their semantic prosody can be distinguished from the real context, teachers can use the sample sentences in the corpus to help students master the vocabulary. This study has some implications for the translation of English and Chinese cross-lingual synonyms: the translator should take semantic rhyme and context into account when choosing equivalents.
