【摘要】：文章共分为三大章节:第一章节,参照相关史料讲述吐弥大师的诞生地,为及其生平事迹的研究提供了必要的依据。第二章节,阐述吐弥大师创制藏文字《文法根本三十颂》、《音势论》即《文法性别用法》等语言文法著作的内涵,它在吐蕃历史上的语言学、文字学和文法学上颇有建树,既是最早的藏文文法经典,也是至今延用的教科书。同时,因为藏文字的创制、佛经翻译功业他也是吐蕃王朝赞普松赞干布贤臣之一官至御前大臣第三章节,介绍吐弥大师任劳负重地从天竺、尼珀尔等国召请译师和贤人先后翻译了《二十一显密经典》、《宝星陀罗尼经》、《十善经》、《般若十万能颂》、《宝云经》、《宝箧经》等多量的梵文经典,开辟了藏译佛经的先河。他对佛经翻译思想、实践及其成果,把后来的《声明要领二卷》奠定了良好的基础,本章节贯穿于全文的核心内容。总之,文章根据历史资料和现实研究成果,系统地介绍了吐蕃大译师吐弥·桑布札历经千辛万苦到佛教发源地拜师求学,创制藏文字的历史贡献及其渊博的梵藏学识水平,同时通过介绍其大量的佛经翻译成果。再现吐弥大师翻译的思想及学术研究的价值,使之成为西藏文化的重要组成部分和基本知识。
