语义省略的认知转喻解读

【摘要】:语义省略是普遍存在于语言使用中的一种现象,在语言交际中扮演着非常重要的角色。语义省略的使用主要是为了避免重复,使语言在简洁的基础上不影响交际,甚至达到更好的表达效果。它是一种形式上的语义缺失,然而字面上的缺失并不影响实际意义的理解,也不影响交际者之间的沟通与交流。 目前,语言中的省略现象已得到国内外学者的广泛关注。在国内,对语义省略的语义理解研究可以追溯到汉代。随着传统语法的发展,越来越多的学者开始从句法层面对其进行研究。句法、语用和语义三平面理论的提出和发展,对省略的研究又提出了新的角度和要求,呈现出百花争鸣的局面。国外对省略的研究大致可以分为以Chomsky为代表的生成语法学派和以Halliday为代表的功能语法学派。早期的转换生成语法认为省略是一种句法结构的转换,管辖与约束理论把省略归到空语类的范畴之中,近期的更简句法是从间接允准机制的框架下分析省略。功能语法学派则主要从语篇连贯的角度研究省略,把省略看成是一种零形式的替代。20世纪80年代认知语言学的兴起,为研究和探讨省略现象提供了新的视角。 本文旨在前人的成果基础上运用认知语言学的一些观点对语义省略的理解过程做出认知分析。正确理解省略是研究省略现象的根本目的和意义,对语义的理解必然要以认知理论为基础。本研究主要以认知语言学领域的转喻机制作为理论框架,结合认知参照点、脚本、场境、隐喻和关联原则来分析中篇小说中的语义省略现象,以期探寻语义省略理解的内在本质和规律,有利于人们更好地使用和理解省略,顺利完成交际。 本文共分为5章。第1章为绪论,主要介绍了本文的研究背景、目的、意义及语料来源。第2章回顾了国内外不同学派对于省略进行的研究。第3章是本文的理论框架,主要介绍了几种不同的转喻机制。第4章是本文的主体部分。研究显示,转喻的认知机制与语义省略的理解过程是相一致的。第5章是本文的结论部分,运用转喻机制进一步阐释语义省略的认知理解过程,不仅丰富了语义省略的研究途径,而且拓宽了认知转喻的研究范围。
[Abstract]:Semantic ellipsis is a common phenomenon in language use and plays a very important role in language communication. The purpose of semantic ellipsis is to avoid repetition so that language can not affect communication on the basis of conciseness and even achieve better expression effect. It is a formal semantic absence, but the literal absence does not affect the understanding of practical meaning, nor does it affect communication and communication between communicators. At present, the phenomenon of ellipsis in language has been widely concerned by scholars at home and abroad. In China, the semantic understanding of semantic ellipsis can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. With the development of traditional grammar, more and more scholars begin to study it from syntactic level. The theory of syntax, pragmatics and semantics is put forward and developed, and the study of ellipsis puts forward new angles and requirements, showing a situation of a hundred flowers contending. Foreign studies on ellipsis can be divided into generative grammar school represented by Chomsky and functional grammar school represented by Halliday. In the early transformational generative grammar, ellipsis is considered as a transformation of syntactic structure. The theory of jurisdiction and constraint classifies ellipsis into the category of empty language. In recent times, the simpler syntax is to analyze ellipsis under the framework of indirect permission mechanism. The school of functional grammar studies ellipsis mainly from the perspective of discourse coherence and regards ellipsis as a zero-form substitute for the rise of cognitive linguistics in the 1980s, which provides a new perspective for the study and discussion of ellipsis. The purpose of this paper is to make a cognitive analysis of the process of understanding semantic ellipsis by using some viewpoints of cognitive linguistics on the basis of previous achievements. Understanding ellipsis correctly is the basic purpose and meaning of studying ellipsis, and the understanding of semantics must be based on cognitive theory. In this study, the metonymy mechanism in the field of cognitive linguistics is taken as the theoretical framework, and the semantic ellipsis in novella is analyzed by combining cognitive reference points, scripts, context, metaphor and relevance principles. In order to explore the intrinsic nature and law of semantic ellipsis understanding, it is helpful for people to use and understand ellipsis better and to complete communication smoothly. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the research background, purpose, significance and the source of the corpus. Chapter 2 reviews the studies on ellipsis made by different schools at home and abroad. Chapter 3 is the theoretical framework of this paper, mainly introduces several different metonymy mechanisms. Chapter 4 is the main part of this paper. The research shows that the cognitive mechanism of metonymy is consistent with the understanding process of semantic ellipsis. Chapter 5 is the conclusion of this paper. The use of metonymy mechanism to further explain the cognitive understanding process of semantic ellipsis not only enriches the research approach of semantic ellipsis but also widens the research scope of cognitive metonymy.
