操纵论视域下的译者画外音探析

【摘要】:操纵论出现于20世纪80年代,自诞生之日起就得到了广泛认可。在众学者的支持下,这一理论发展成为操纵学派。该学派的观点为人们提供了了解翻译的新视点,使人们对翻译有了更好的认识。 操纵学派认为,翻译不仅是一种对原文的改写,也是一种操纵活动。改写贯穿了整个翻译过程。画外音指影片中并非由画面中的人或物体直接发出、而是来自画面外的声音。翻译时,译者会有意识地对原文进行操纵。他们会有目的地将其身份显化,从翻译的幕后走出,表达自己的思想。这些思想打破了原作的界限,并不完全忠实于原文,本文称为译者画外音。 本文将着重探讨操纵论与译者画外音之间的关系。一方面,译者会发挥自己的主体性,将其画外音体现在翻译之中;另一方面,译者对翻译的操纵受到社会意识形态、诗学和赞助人的影响。在内外因的共同作用下,译作最终产生并为读者所接受。 本论文从操纵论的角度探讨了译者主体性与画外音,角度相对新颖。在众多具体实例佐证下,本论文系统地分析了操纵译者的三大因素,即意识形态、诗学及赞助人对译者画外音造成的影响。探究了译者为表达自己的画外音而采取的诸如删减、添加、改写等翻译策略。经过这些处理,译作在进入市场后,会更符合译入语社会主流意识形态、诗学和赞助人的要求,也会有更为广阔的市场前景。本文将操纵学派的理论与翻译实践相结合,为译者操纵原文提供了较好的理论支持,也让读者能更好地理解译者操纵文本的原因,具有一定的意义,值得人们进一步对译者画外音思考研究。
[Abstract]:Manipulation theory appeared in the 1980 s and has been widely accepted since its birth. Supported by many scholars, this theory developed into a school of manipulation. The view of this school provides a new perspective for people to understand translation, so that people have a better understanding of translation. According to the manipulative school, translation is not only a rewriting of the original text, but also a manipulative activity. Rewriting runs through the whole translation process. Voice-over refers to a sound in a film that is not made directly by the person or object in the picture, but from outside the picture. In translation, the translator will consciously manipulate the original text. They will purposefully manifest their identity, walk out of the background of translation, and express their thoughts. These ideas break the boundaries of the original and are not completely faithful to the original, which is called the translator's voiceover. This paper will focus on the relationship between manipulation theory and the translator's voiceover. On the one hand, the translator will exert his own subjectivity and embody his voiceover in translation; on the other hand, the translator's manipulation of translation will be influenced by social ideology, poetics and patronage. Under the combined action of internal and external factors, the translation is finally produced and accepted by the readers. This thesis discusses the translator's subjectivity and voiceover from the perspective of manipulation theory, which is relatively novel. Based on many examples, this thesis systematically analyzes the influence of ideology, poetics and patronage on the translator's voiceover. This paper explores the translation strategies adopted by translators to express their voice-over sounds, such as deletion, addition and rewriting. After these treatments, the translation will meet the needs of the mainstream ideology, poetics and patron of the target society, and will have a broader market prospect. This paper combines the theory of manipulation school with translation practice, which provides a good theoretical support for the translator to manipulate the original text, and also enables the reader to better understand the causes of the translator's manipulation of the text, which is of certain significance. It is worth further thinking about the translator's voiceover.
