异化—传播中华文化的有效翻译策略

随着全球化趋势的发展,文化日趋全球化,文化融合已经成为一种不可避免的历史趋势。但是,与此同时,不可否认的是,文化多元主义在当今时代也得到充分发展。在此进程中,强势文化不可避免地会将其影响渗透入其他文化,致使一些弱势文化面临被同化的威胁。另一方面,这些弱势文化也在不断努力保持自身文化身份,寻求自身文化发展;而对于一个拥有五千年光辉灿烂历史的中华民族,面对文化全球化的挑战,人们应竭力保持和发扬自己的民族精神,对外宣传中国文化。作为文化交流桥梁的翻译工作者在此过程中理应肩负起这一历史使命。在翻译过程中人们要么使用归化翻译策略以目标文化为中心,要么使用异化翻译策略来保留原语文化。作为两种最主要的翻译方法,归化和异化一直是翻译理论界争论探讨的热点。尽管在过去的几个世纪中归化一直在翻译界占据着主导地位,但从大趋势看,异化方法在文化传递方面所起到的突出作用,必将令其在翻译界大放异彩。本文的中心论题是:异化翻译是传播中华文化的有效手段;本文以劳伦斯·韦努蒂提出的“异化翻译”理论为基础。韦努蒂认为:“异化翻译承认文化差异,并且在目的语中体现文化差异”。本文第二章主要讨论当前的两种翻译策略:归化和异化,之...
