认知视角下英汉动物隐喻研究

在过去的二十几年里,认知科学极大地改变了人们对世界的基本认识。概念隐喻理论作为认知科学的一个重要理论,改变了人们对传统隐喻的基本观点。认知语言学认为隐喻的本质是通过一种事物来理解和体验另一种事物,人类的思维和推理大体是基于隐喻的,而人们对世界的认知是建立在经验基础之上的。动物在人类生活的方方面面起着重要的作用。含有动物名称的各种表达方式在人们语言中也起着同等重要的作用,英语、汉语两种语言中都不乏动物隐喻的存在。本文以和动物名称相关的表达作为研究对象,运用Lakoff & Johnson的概念隐喻理论以及Lakoff & Turner的大链条隐喻概念,进一步论证人类思维和语言中存在“人类是动物”的概念隐喻。动物作为概念隐喻的源域,其属性通常可以从这四个方面映射到目标域人:外貌、行为、性格、声音。认知语言学强调概念隐喻是以人的体验为基础,不同文化的人他们对生活的经验和体验都有差异,因而对动物的选择和看法也就不完全相同。在汉英两种语言体系中,同一动物可能含有相同或不同的隐喻意义,同一隐喻意义也可能通过不同的动物表现出来。当然,由于两种文化的巨大差异,有的动物形象在一种文化内存...
