乔志高翻译研究

乔志高,又名高克毅,是一位享誉两岸三地的著名作家和翻译家,自小受中西方双语文化背景熏陶的他,对于中美两国的语言及文化都把握的十分纯熟。自1971年出版第一部长篇译作《大亨小传》后,还译有《长夜漫漫路迢迢》（1973）和《天使,望故乡》（1985）两部美国文学作品。一直以来,文学及翻译界对高先生译作的评价甚高,但国内的学者对其翻译成果的讨论却略显不足。本论文拟选取乔志高先生的这三部主要翻译作品进行研究,通过语言和文化特征方面的具体分析,集中探讨高氏的翻译风格,在前人总结出的其典型的旧式文白夹杂的语言风格基础之上,归纳出他的翻译风格如下:1.在用词上,善用四字成语让行文更见中国特色;2.语法上,高氏不拘泥于原文之语法,而能以合乎中文之语法或语用习惯之方式来表达原文内容;3.在内容方面,原文中之种种意象,高氏均视乎在汉语是否可行而决定直译与否,一些原语文化特有之名物,或直译并在文中加以解释,或索性以译语文化中相当名物代替。尽管译学界对高氏的翻译作品评价甚高,但高氏的翻译仍然存在一些不足,这是之前的研究成果都未曾提及到的。如双关语和文学典故的翻译,高氏在某些情况下选择了直译,这样就失去了原文丰...
