中美领导人演讲中模糊限制语的比较研究

【摘要】：语言的模糊性和准确性一样,是自然语言的一个内在属性。模糊限制语作为模糊家族的一员,在一些特定场合可以使说话者更好地表达自己的意图和态度。领导人代表国家形象和利益,演讲时要求语言在表达措辞上有技巧策略,领导人演讲时为了确保发言准确恰当、灵活有礼,经常使用模糊限制语。但是语言种类不同,判断语言是否合理的标准有异,文化背景的不同也会影响模糊限制语的使用情况,中美领导人在演讲中使用模糊限制语可能会有所差别。本论文从模糊限制语着眼研究,E.F.Prince对模糊限制语的分类方法影响深远,以此为标准,结合定量与定性分析法,选取中美领导人2009-2015年出席国际会议时的演讲为语料各50篇,涉及政治、经济、文化交流领域,将模糊限制语的使用情况进行对比,得出了中美领导人模糊限制语的使用异同数据。本文还分析中美双方使用模糊限制语存在异同的原因,模糊限制语使用差异会受到模糊限制语的特殊功能影响,并且以Halliday功能语法的三大元功能理论为基础分析了模糊限制语在领导人演讲中的功能,最后发现中美领导人运用模糊限制语的差异会对国际外交中领导人语言交际效果产生一定影响。此研究对有利于我们充分认识中美领导人使用模糊限制语的特征,为我们正确理解不同文化背景中的模糊限制语提供一些启示。
[Abstract]:The fuzziness of language, like accuracy, is an intrinsic attribute of natural language. In certain situations, speakers can better express their intentions and attitudes. Leaders represent the image and interests of the country, require language to be skillful in expressing language, and leaders speak in order to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of their speeches. Flexible and courteous, often using hedges. But different language types, different criteria for judging whether a language is reasonable, and different cultural backgrounds can also affect the use of vague hedges. There may be some differences in the use of hedges by Chinese and American leaders in their speeches. Selecting 50 speeches by Chinese and American leaders attending international conferences from 2009 to 2015, covering the fields of political, economic and cultural exchanges, the use of hedges is compared. This paper also analyzes the reasons why there are similarities and differences in the use of hedges between China and the United States. The differences in the use of hedges are influenced by the special functions of hedges. Based on the three metafunctions of Halliday functional Grammar, this paper analyzes the functions of hedges in leaders' speeches. Finally, it is found that the differences in the use of hedges between Chinese and American leaders will have a certain impact on the communicative effect of leaders in international diplomacy. This study is helpful for us to fully understand the characteristics of the use of hedges by Chinese and American leaders. It provides some enlightenment for us to understand the hedges in different cultural backgrounds.
