中美媒体关于钓鱼岛新闻报道的及物性分析

【摘要】：新闻语篇作为非文学语篇的重要形式,应该客观地、公正地报道事件和传递信息。但是受主流意识形态、作者观点立场和社会文化背景等因素的影响,新闻报道并不总是客观公正的。自2010年9月7日钓鱼岛事件发生后,世界各国的新闻媒体对此事件给予持续关注,他们对这场争端的报道也是立场各异。本文以韩礼德的及物性系统为理论,以批评话语分析为视角,对美国有线电视新闻网和中国日报总共60篇有关中日钓鱼岛争端的新闻报道进行了对比分析,并试图发现在及物性运用上有无差异。其结果如下。中美媒体关于钓鱼岛新闻报道中都使用了五种过程,其中最多的是物质过程,第二和第三位分别是言语过程与关系过程,然后是心理过程与存在过程。在这五种过程类型中,物质过程、关系过程、存在过程的使用在中美媒体关于钓鱼岛新闻报道上无显著性差异;然而心理过程和言语过程在这些新闻报道的使用上存在显著性差异。随着对五种过程具体分析,本研究揭示出中美媒体中所隐含的意识形态、态度及观点。对于五种及物性过程的分析,发现美国新闻报道在钓鱼岛事件中维护日本非法拘留船长及船员以及非法购买钓鱼岛的行为,并且支持日本对钓鱼岛的拥有权,对中国形象的刻画比较消极。然而中国新闻报道描述了中国政府和中国人民保护其领土的决心;且明确指出日本非法拘留船长及船员到非法购买钓鱼岛的行为严重侵犯了中华民族的利益,日本应承担主要责任。本研究证明韩礼德的及物性系统是分析新闻报道的有力工具,且有利于读者在读取新闻报道时,提高自身的批评性话语意识,理解文章背后所隐藏的意义。
[Abstract]:As an important form of non-literary discourse, news discourse should report events objectively and impartially.However, influenced by mainstream ideology, author's standpoint and social and cultural background, news reports are not always objective and impartial.Since the Diaoyu Islands incident on September 7, 2010, the news media around the world have been giving sustained attention to the incident, and their reports on the dispute are also divided.Based on Halliday's theory of materiality and critical discourse analysis, this paper makes a comparative analysis of 60 news reports on the Diaoyu Islands dispute between China and Japan on CNN and China Daily.And try to find out whether there are differences in the use of physical properties.The results are as follows.There are five kinds of processes used in Chinese and American news reports about Diaoyu Island, the most of which are the material process, the second and the third are the speech process and the relationship process, and then the psychological process and the existential process.In these five process types, there is no significant difference in the use of material process, relationship process and existing process between Chinese and American media about the Diaoyu Island news reports.However, there are significant differences between psychological process and speech process in the use of these news reports.With the detailed analysis of the five processes, this study reveals the ideology, attitude and views implied in the Chinese and American media.Through the analysis of five kinds of and physical processes, it is found that US news reports maintain Japan's illegal detention of captain and crew members and illegal purchase of Diaoyu Islands in the Diaoyu Islands incident, and support Japan's ownership of the Diaoyu Islands.The portrayal of Chinese image is quite negative.However, Chinese news reports described the determination of the Chinese government and people to protect their territory, and made it clear that Japan's illegal detention of its captain and crew to illegally purchase the Diaoyu Islands seriously violated the interests of the Chinese nation.Japan bears the primary responsibility.The present study proves that Halliday's and transitivity system is a powerful tool for analyzing news reports and is helpful for readers to improve their critical discourse awareness and understand the hidden meaning behind the articles.
