论标记视角下的风格传递-The Great Gatsby两种译本个案研究

  文学作品中的风格翻译在翻译界一直备受关注,因为其是翻译研究中最复杂而敏感的问题之一。关于风格问题,中西翻译家一直以来争论的焦点是风格的可译性以及如果可译怎样传递原文的风格。很多翻译家都在其理论中都提到了风格的传递问题,比如泰特勒认为“译文的风格和笔调应与原文相同”,刘重德提出了“信、达、切”,其中的“切”特指风格的等值,证明了风格翻译的必要性和重要性,因此对风格翻译的研究无论在理论上还是在实践上都具有特别重要的意义。通过考察国内外学者在这方面的研究,不难发现大多数学者的观点是风格翻译虽难但却是可译的,甚至有学者认为它非译不可,并且现在风格对等也被普遍看做是文学翻译的最高标准。本文作者持一种辩证的观点,认为不同语言和文化之间的巨大差异给风格的绝对对等造成了极大困难,换言之,风格只能在某种程度上达到对等,而译者只能最大程度地传递原文风格。 语言是风格的载体,风格赋形于语言。风格再抽象也是通过语言符号的组合排列表现出来的,所以通过识别风格的语言标记就能识别风格。除了传达语言信息,风格还能表现出文学作品潜在的思想感情,作家的个人气质及其作品的审美倾价值。也就是说风格的内涵主要由语言和文学这两个...
