从结构主义视角下分析裘德的悲剧

【摘要】：托马斯.哈代(Thomas Hardy,1840-1928)是英国文学史上维多利亚时期一位著名作家,出版于1895年的《无名的裘德》是其代表作之一。近几十年来对他的小说的研究方兴未艾。《无名的裘德》以虚构的具有浓郁乡村特色的“威塞克斯”为故事背景,以两性关系,精神追求和当时盛行的道德伦理为题材,真实的反映了小说中人物与其自然本性和残酷的现实之间的斗争,充分体现了哈代对生活敏锐的感悟和洞察力以及不可比拟的艺术成就。国内外文学界的研究多以悲剧,“威塞克斯”,“人物与环境”,女性主义和身份构建为主。与这些研究不同的是,本文以结构主义为理论框架,就作品的内容与形式两方面进行分析,从而试图揭示裘德悲剧命运的必然性。论文分为五个部分。导论对托马斯.哈代生平及《无名的裘德》进行梗概,对国内外对《无名的裘德》的研究进行了简要概括,也对本论文所用结构主义理论进行了简要介绍。第一章聚焦于探索小说中裘德无法通过不恰当的途径获得身份,爱情和真理,无法正确地构建自己的身份和有意义的生活,以至于一步一步走向悲剧。第二章运用托多洛夫的“句法结构”理论找到裘德遵循的深层语法结构“寻找-找到-失去”。第三章在托多洛夫句法结构基础之上,运用弗莱的循环“叙述程式”对《无名的裘德》独特的叙事模式进行了更加深入分析,进一步解析裘德注定的悲剧正是由于文中讽刺的现实主义叙事远凌驾于裘德和淑的浪漫叙事。第四章对该论文进行总结。
[Abstract]:Thomas Hardyn (1840-1928) is a famous Victorian writer in the history of English literature. Jude, published in 1895, is one of his masterpieces. In recent decades, the study of his novels is in the ascendant. The pursuit of spirit and the prevailing moral ethics at that time reflect the struggle between the characters in the novel and their natural nature and cruel reality. It fully reflects Hardy's keen perception and insight of life and unparalleled artistic achievements. Most of the studies in literary circles at home and abroad focus on tragedy, "Wessex", "people and Environment", feminism and identity construction. What's different about these studies is that, Taking structuralism as the theoretical framework, this paper analyzes the content and form of the works. The paper is divided into five parts. The introduction outlines Thomas Hardy's life and the unknown Jude, and summarizes the research of Jude the unknown at home and abroad. The first chapter focuses on the exploration of Jude's inability to obtain identity, love and truth through inappropriate channels, and to construct his own identity and meaningful life correctly. The second chapter uses Todolov's "syntactic structure" theory to find out the deep grammatical structure Jude follows "seek-find-lose". Chapter three is based on Tordov's syntactic structure. The unique narrative mode of Jude the nameless is analyzed more deeply by using Fry's cycle "narrative program". Further analysis of Jude's doomed tragedy is due to the fact that the satirical realistic narration is far superior to Jude and Shu's romantic narration. Chapter 4th summarizes the thesis.
