【摘要】：霍勒斯·沃波尔的《奥特朗托城堡》问世于英国社会急剧转型的十八世纪中后期,它融古代传奇与"现代"写实小说两种文体于一炉,开启了哥特小说创作的先河,其中的哥特元素形象地表现了以作者为代表的中产阶级的焦虑。本文从政体、身份、性别三方面解读该作品,探讨作者重建理想社会形态的乌托邦冲动以及自我舒缓焦虑的策略。
[Abstract]:Horace Walpole's Castle of Otlanto came out in the middle and late part of 18th century, when British society changed dramatically. It combined ancient legends and "modern" realistic novels, and opened the way for the creation of Gothic novels. The Gothic elements vividly express the anxiety of the middle class represented by the author. This paper interprets the work from three aspects: regime, identity and gender. To explore the author's strategies for reconstructing the utopian impulse and self-relieving anxiety of the ideal society.
