[Abstract]:Saul Bellow is a famous American novelist who is regarded as the most important novelist after Hemingway and Faulkner. As a result of his growing up environment and his educational background, he was extremely concerned about the living and spiritual conditions of human beings from the beginning of his creation. In many of his works, he takes the protagonist of Jewish identity as the intervention point, through their situation to illustrate the American people and even the whole modern human survival plight. But Saul Bellow's true greatness lies in his portrayal of the situation in a pen full of rich humanism and in the hope of mankind reflected in the valuable qualities reflected in the characters in his works. To the human spiritual homeland to carry on the unremitting watch, carries on the persistent exploration to the human way out. In his "Mr. Symler's Planet", by describing the story of a survivor of World War II, Saimler, within three days of seventy years old, he conveys the value of humanism and finds the right way out for mankind. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the lack and revival of humanism in the novel. The first part combs the domestic research on Saul Bellow and his works, also summarizes the relevant research situation macroscopically, lists the latest research results, and puts forward the research value and significance of this paper. From the point of view of humanism, this paper discusses the importance of adhering to humanism in a society where material desires cross the stream from the point of view of "the planet of Mr. Symler", and from the two times of his escape. The second part describes the first escape, first of all, it describes the wounds of Symler in the war and after the war, and then analyzes the reason of Symler's escape from the Holocaust, which is the lack of humanism reflected by the Holocaust. The third part describes Symler's second escape, the escape from Earth. The first is the reaction of the plan of landing on the moon in the novel, the second is the reason why man fled the earth, that is, the earth has become a wasteland, and man cannot bear to live on the earth. Finally, the basic reason of escape is expounded, that is, the decline of humanism. The fourth part is the awakening of Symler's humanism. After two escapes, Sembler realized that escape is not the fundamental solution to the problem, and that only by facing up to it, regaining the tradition of humanism and rebuilding the spirit of humanism can the planet be saved. The fifth part is the summary of the full text. Mr. Symler's escape from the war, though he saved his life, brought him untold wounds, and his escape from the earth ended in failure. Although the earth became a wasteland and mankind was in danger, he still chose to stay on the earth. To think about the right way for the future of mankind is to save the humanism spirit.
