哈代与沈从文乡土小说比较研究

【摘要】：托马斯·哈代与沈从文都是世界文坛上最具代表性的乡土小说作家,他们各自都围绕乡土这一题材进行了具体创作并形成了自己独特的系列小说:“威塞克斯小说”和“湘西小说”。哈代和沈从文分别以自己的家乡作为小说的故事发生地,以自己熟悉的生活环境为背景,构筑了“威塞克斯世界”和“湘西世界”;二人都在其作品中叙述了自己对家乡的热爱之情,都对现代工业文明进行了强烈批判。细读文本、详细比较哈代与沈从文的乡土小说,便可发现二者在文学创作背景、文本内容书写、文学理想等方面具有诸多相似、相异之处。本文运用梳理归类、对比分析、综合论述等方法对哈代与沈从文的小说进行比较研究,以期深入认识两位作家的创作意旨、写作风格、艺术特点等,从而深化对他们乡土小说内涵的理解。首先,论文从分析哈代与沈从文选取乡土题材进行文学创作的原因入手,探究他们的成长环境、人生经历以及乡土情结对其乡土小说创作产生的影响。其次,从哈代与沈从文乡土小说中相异的乡景再现、独特的人物刻画、不同的悲剧风格入手,分析两位作家对淳朴乡村的深厚感情、对自然女性的称颂赞扬和对残酷现实的强烈批判。再次,从哈代与沈从文追求的文学理想入手,分析两位作家对社会问题的深刻反思、对人性问题的执着拷问和对回归自然的强烈期盼。最后,在以上分析论述的基础上得出结论:尽管哈代与沈从文的乡土小说有许多相异之处,但是他们的作品都以自己的故乡为背景,真实地描写了当时乡村的状况和人们的贫苦生活,表现了现代文明对传统文明的侵袭与破坏,表达了对田园牧歌式农村的怀念,寄托了以农村人善良质朴德行重铸人们灵魂的美好愿望。
[Abstract]:Thomas Hardy and Shen Congwen are the most representative local fiction writers in the world. Each of them has made their own unique series of novels: Wessex novel and Xiangxi novel. Hardy and Shen Congwen take their hometown as the story place of the novel, take their familiar living environment as the background, and construct "Wessex World" and "Xiangxi World". In their works, they both describe their love of their hometown and strongly criticize modern industrial civilization. By carefully reading the text and comparing Hardy's and Shen Congwen's local novels in detail, we can find that there are many similarities and differences between them in the background of literary creation, the writing of text content, the literary ideal and so on. This paper makes a comparative study of Hardy's and Shen Congwen's novels by means of combing and classifying, comparing and analyzing, synthetically discussing and so on, in order to deeply understand the two writers' creative intention, writing style, artistic characteristics and so on. In order to deepen their understanding of the connotation of local novels. First of all, the paper analyzes the reasons why Hardy and Shen Congwen select local themes for literary creation, and probes into the influence of their growing up environment, life experience and local complex on their local novel creation. Secondly, this paper analyzes the profound feelings of the two writers for the simple countryside, starting with the different rural scenery reproduction, the unique character portrayal and the different tragic style in Hardy's and Shen Congwen's local novels. Praise of natural women and strong criticism of cruel reality. Thirdly, starting with the literary ideal pursued by Hardy and Shen Congwen, the author analyzes the profound reflection on social problems, the persistent torture of human nature and the strong expectation of returning to nature. Finally, on the basis of the above analysis, it is concluded that although Hardy and Shen Congwen's local novels have many differences, their works are all based on their hometown. It describes the rural situation and people's poor life, shows the invasion and destruction of traditional civilization by modern civilization, and expresses the nostalgia for pastoral countryside. Entrusted with the kind and simple rural people to rebuild the soul of the people's good wishes.
