[Abstract]:After World War II, there were many excellent Jewish writers, such as Sol Bellow, Philip Ross, Bernhard Malamud, and so on. They had a high position in the history of American literature. After reading the text, the readers would find that their works were different in content, but both of them had strong Jewish characteristics. In Bellow and Malamud, they emphasize the identity of the character and give more attention to the life and morality of the Jews. However, Ross, with the help of his characters, satirize and criticize the Jewish tradition. In addition, these figures reflect a similar phenomenon in varying degrees: the root of the Jews is deep. The nature of the Jewish character encountered the influence and assimilation of the ubiquitous mainstream culture and values in the United States, resulting in identity confusion and anxiety. The study of Ross's character anxiety can not only help to understand the Jewish history of the Jews in the United States, but also to explore the differences, connections and conflicts between the tradition of Judah and the American culture. Philip Ross (Philip Roth) is one of the best contemporary American novelists. His first work, "good-bye, Columbo", won the National Book Award in 1960. Compared with his contemporaries, Ross showed more concern for the Jews in his works. On the one hand, he expressed his respect and concern for the Jewish culture and tradition; on the other hand, he sought to find the identity of the American mainstream culture. Therefore, his novels never lack a psychological description of the Jewish people. And the cause of his work in the American literary world is due to his unique characters and uncommon storylines. In addition, the subject of Ross's attention is very sharp and sensitive. In < Potter noy's complaint >, he boldly involved a Jewish youth sexual adventure, and he put the United States in the United States The civil rights movement and the anti cultural movement are the background of the story and the living environment of the characters in the novel. Potter noy's anxiety and sexual adventure reflected in the novel reflect the Jewish trait.
