[Abstract]:Philip Ross is a very important writer in contemporary American literature. As a Jewish writer, many of his works focus on minority issues. The uncleanness of human nature is one of Philip Ross's American trilogy. This novel won the 2001 National Jewish Book Award and Faulkner Prize for Fiction. The novel tells the identity crisis of black people in American society. On the one hand, blacks are born into their own culture. On the other hand, living in a white-dominated society, they are influenced by white culture. Based on HomiBaba's theory, this paper analyzes the causes of black identity crisis and provides reference for those who have similar identity problems. Based on the post-colonial theory, this paper focuses on the black identity crisis. The first chapter mainly introduces Philip Ross and his novel "Human Nature's filth", in addition to the detailed introduction of HomiBaba's post-colonial theory. The second chapter focuses on the suffering of blacks in the process of adhering to their own culture and their frustration in trying to integrate into the white dominated American society. Chapter three analyzes the causes of black identity crisis on the basis of HomiBaba's theory based on the content of the first two chapters. The last chapter is a summary of the full text. In an era of global cultural integration and innovation, the issue of minority identity has received attention. To explore the causes of identity crisis can bring practical significance for them to extricate themselves from the predicament.
