汤亭亭小说的叙事研究

【摘要】：汤亭亭,美国著名的华裔文学女性作家,她在美国文学发展史上有着重要的地位。汤亭亭作品多聚焦在美华人的生活,她作品的最大特点,就是将中国传统的文化和传说故事移植到美国文化背景下进行改编,这种混杂的语境,正是她试图寻找在美华人身份认同的尝试。正是这种尝试,使得汤亭亭的作品得以进入美国的主流文学并受到瞩目,这也是国内外学者关注汤亭亭作品的最大原因。本文以《女勇士》、《中国佬》、《孙行者:他的伪书》为主要的研究文本对象,从叙事时间和空间,叙事声音,叙述聚焦三个角度来研讨汤亭亭小说文学价值。汤亭亭小说的混杂的语境及改编中国神话故事,甚至将神话故事与现实生活之间做对比。这种特殊的写作方式与她的生活环境息息相关,她巧妙的运用了美国人接受并看懂的表达方式来发出改变华人地位,尤其是华人女性地位的诉求本论文主要包括以下三个部分:第一章从叙事时间和空间的角度分析汤亭亭小说的交错的叙事时间和中西方对立的叙述空间。第二章从叙事声音的角度出发,分析《孙行者:他的伪书》中主人公的反抗、《中国佬》中的女性的沉默。以及华工群体的控诉之声。第三个部分主要分析小说中的叙事聚焦模式,以三种模式来总结汤亭亭小说的文本特色:外聚焦叙事、内聚焦叙事、无聚焦或零聚焦模式。我认为,正是这三种模式的运用,汤亭亭的作品才会在错综复杂的线条下呈现出一种层次感。
[Abstract]:Maxine Hong Kingston, a famous female writer of Chinese literature in the United States, plays an important role in the history of American literature. Most of Kingston's works focus on the life of Chinese Americans. The most important feature of her works is to transplant Chinese traditional culture and legendary stories into the American cultural context. It is her attempt to find Chinese identity in the United States. It is this kind of attempt that makes Kingston's works come into the mainstream literature of the United States and attract attention, which is the biggest reason why scholars at home and abroad pay attention to Kingston's works. This paper studies the literary value of Kingston Hong Kingston's novels from three angles of narrative time and space, narrative sound and narrative focus, taking "female Warrior", "Chinese Man", "Sun walker: his false Book" as the main research object. The mixed context and adaptation of Maxine Hong Kingston's novels even contrasts mythology with real life. This particular writing style is closely related to her living environment. She skillfully uses expressions accepted and understood by Americans to change the status of Chinese. This thesis mainly includes the following three parts: the first chapter analyzes the interlaced narrative time of Kingston's novels and the opposing narrative space between China and the West from the perspective of narrative time and space. The second chapter analyzes the resistance of the protagonist in Sun walker: his false book and the silence of the women in the Chinese Man from the perspective of narrative voice. And complaints from Chinese workers. The third part mainly analyzes the narrative focusing mode in the novel, and summarizes the text characteristics of Kingston's novel with three modes: external focus narrative, internal focus narrative, no focus or zero focus mode. I think it is the use of these three models that makes Kingston's works appear a sense of hierarchy under the intricate lines.
