孤独与失败：《心是孤独的猎手》中的酷儿性

《心是孤独的猎手》是麦卡勒斯的处女作长篇小说,也是她的成名作。虽然中外学者对这部长篇小说的研究已颇具深度,但主要是从小说的孤独主题、女性主义、上帝视角或者社会批评等角度对其进行剖析。本文则借助酷儿理论,阐释作者在小说中对酷儿身份的建构。酷儿理论是20世纪90年代在西方兴起的一个新的性理论。“酷儿”这一概念作为对一个社会群体的指称,包括了所有在性倾向方面,与主流文化和占统治地位的社会性别规范或性规范不符的人。酷儿意味着对抗——既反对同性恋的同化,也反对异性恋的压迫。本文将在探究小说中三位主要人物身上的酷儿性基础上,揭示这些人物在酷儿理论语境下的合理性和传统文化语境下的越轨性之间的矛盾,才是造成这些人物悲剧性的根本原因。本文一共分成五个部分。第一章主要介绍了麦卡勒斯的生平经历和写作生涯:首先分析了她本人的经历和性格导致了她个人的边缘化;其次指出了她作品中各种各样的边缘人物和情感问题大多来源于她本人极其戏剧性的情感经历,才使得她的作品散发出如此独特的魅力。第二章首先回顾了酷儿一词的起源及其定义,描写了麦卡勒斯作品中的主要酷儿人物;其次介绍了酷儿理论,指出其一系列的关键词,即酷儿、性别的不稳定性、性取向的多样性。第三章主要分析了《心是孤独的猎手》中聋哑人辛格、孤独少女米可和餐馆主人比夫等三位主人公身上的酷儿性。第四章剖析他们边缘化身份导致的孤独与悲惨结局:首先从社会、家人以及朋友三个方面分析了这三位酷儿生存状态的边缘化;接着分析他们作为酷儿对社会性别规范做出的抗争以及他们最后失败的结局;最后从经济和社会背景这两个方面着手,分析他们失败的原因。第五章总结了麦卡勒斯如何运用她笔下的酷儿去挑战异性恋霸权,进一步描写了酷儿们艰苦的生存状态。本文借助麦卡勒斯笔下的酷儿们,呼吁世人正视不同于异性恋价值观的性别取向,要尊重性取向的多样性,不要戴有色眼镜去看待酷儿。酷儿和常人一样,也拥有追求真爱、自由选择自己性取向的权利,因此本文致力于呼吁世人打破传统观念的桎梏,理解尊重酷儿以及他们之间的爱。
