颠覆、抑制、协和—《掘墓人的女儿》中犹太族裔历史的自我重建

乔伊斯·卡罗尔·欧茨是美国当代极富盛名的杰出女作家,代表作品繁多,涉及不同的文学题材。她的小说结合社会时代特点,谱写出了美国当代的一幅全景图。《掘墓人的女儿》是欧茨2007年的一部新作,作品主要描述一个犹太裔家族在美国的生存困境和奋斗历程。本文以社会历史语境为研究背景,从新历史主义理论的视角对《掘墓人的女儿》进行解读,采用逐层递进的方式进行阐释,从而挖掘出作品的深层含义,揭示文本中的族裔社会问题。本论文由五部分组成,绪论部分对作家欧茨及作品《掘墓人的女儿》进行简要的介绍、梳理关于欧茨作品的国内外研究状况,并对论文的结构安排进行陈述。第一章首先介绍新历史主义理论的发展及其理论内涵,梳理了该理论的两位主要代表人物路易斯·蒙特罗斯和格林布拉特的理论观点。路易斯·蒙特罗斯提出的历史与文本的互文性理论,从一个新颖的角度揭示出文本与历史的日趋接近的关系,从而对二者之间的关系进行了不同的诠释,揭示出文本具有历史记录的特点。此外,格林布拉特的“颠覆”、“抑制”、“协和”理论,阐述了新历史主义的范畴下文学所特有的社会功能。以上理论都为该小说中的犹太族裔完成自己的历史性重建提供了足够有力的理论支撑。第二章...
