存在主义视角下《八月之光》异化主题研究

《八月之光》是美国作家威廉·福克纳创作的长篇小说,在作家营造的“约克纳帕塔法世系”中占有重要位置。小说通过杰弗镇十天的社会生活的描述,揭示了人类心灵深处的亘古至今的真实情感和牺牲精神。本文以存在主义为理论框架,运用主题分析的方法,探究了《八月之光》中个体异化现象,旨在探索个体异化的主要原因以及消除异化主要途径。《八月之光》通过讲述了与这三条人物线索相关的复杂人物关系,反映了当时美国社会由清教主义和种族主义所引发的个体异化现象,同时也体现了福克纳对人性以及人自身的关注。研究发现造成个体异化的原因分为外部原因和内部原因。外部原因主要是种族歧视主义、宗教狂热主义以及男权占主导地位的社会环境。内部原因主要有自我身份的不确定、责任的逃避以及自我封闭。而肩负责任、追求存在意义以及自我觉醒是本文提出的作为消除异化的主要途径。本文共分为六部分。第一章为导论,简要介绍作者,文本,以及该作品的国内外研究现状;第二章详细介绍本论文的理论基础,存在主义异化观。第三章分析主人公与他人关系发生异化和自我异化,深刻展现主人公非人道的存在。第四章揭示被异化的矛盾根源,笔者进一步追寻主人公身在文化桎梏危机中的无望挣扎。...
