【摘要】：《现在是你敞开心扉之际》(2004)是著名美国非裔女作家、普利策奖得主艾丽斯·沃克(1944-)的最新力作。这部小说以卡罗拉多河之旅、亚马逊雨林之旅和夏威夷之旅三次“疗伤”之旅为主线展开叙述,讲述了一位57岁的女作家凯特·尼尔森寻求心灵平静的故事。在这三次旅行中,凯特、尤罗和其他人物通过与“祖母”的交流,讲述了他们不同的创伤经历,并最终走出创伤。“创伤”一词来源于希腊,本意为“身体伤害”。现在,“创伤”多指心理创伤,即一种由严重的创伤事件而造成的心理损害。20世纪90年代以来,创伤理论常被用于文学批评实践中。本论文运用卡西·卡鲁斯和朱迪斯·赫尔曼的创伤理论观点来解读《现在是你敞开心扉之际》的创伤主题。《现在是你敞开心扉之际》充分体现了沃克对当今世界问题的思考以及她对现代人心理创伤的反思。首先,这部小说体现了沃克对囿于困境的受创者的人文关怀,这些受创者身份多元,包括黑人、白人、印第安人和夏威夷人。其次,在这部小说中,沃克不仅关心这些受创者身体和精神上的痛苦,而且也深入批判了给人们造成巨大身体和心理创伤的战争、霸权主义、种族灭绝、种族压迫、性虐待、儿童虐待以及自然破坏等世界问题。再次,沃克指出受创者可以通过回归自然走出创伤。在大自然中,他们可以通过与自然的交融和其他受创者的交流,敞开心扉,摆脱创伤的禁锢,获得心灵的自由。
