【摘要】：拉尔夫·埃里森(1914-1994)是自20世纪50年代以来美国黑人文学中最具影响力的作家之一,同时也是杰出的文学评论家和最具代表性的美国文化研究先驱之一。作为埃里森最杰出的作品,《看不见的人》被认为是反映现代美国黑人生活的经典作品,作者用独特的视角展示了主人公自我反省和逐渐醒悟并成长起来的艰辛历程。成长小说是以人物的成长过程为主题的小说,着重反映主人公在思想和心理方面从幼稚走向成熟的变化过程。本篇论文的作者以埃里森的《看不见的人》作为研究对象,试图从成长小说角度来解析小说中无名无姓主人公的成长过程。主人公的成长过程与普通青年的成长有着共同之处,但有着黑色皮肤的他想要在被白人文化所漂白的社会中寻求自我和身份,注定要经历不同于大多数青年的成长历程,注定充满艰辛和坎坷。论文以此为切入点,通过追溯成长小说的情节结构模式,即天真-挫折-顿悟—成熟,来体现主人公艰辛的成长历程,并给千千万万在白人文化为主流的社会中生活的迷失自我的黑人很强的借鉴意义。本篇论文主体分为四章,第一章主要分析主人公在美国南方所表现出的天真,这种天真主要表现为对白人文化的盲目崇拜和对黑人文化的无视,从而导致主人公失去自我。第二章主要分析主人公出走后来到纽约所经历的挫折,事物都是在曲折中前进的,人类的成长更是如此,从“死亡”到“重生”再到迷失,在经历了一系列跌宕起伏后,主人公才渐渐醒悟。第三章主要分析主人公在哈莱姆区所经历的几次成长中最重要的顿悟,顿悟是成长小说中不可或缺的组成部分,对主人公的成长具有决定性的意义。第四章主要分析主人公在跌入地下室后彻底放弃虚幻的过去并决定以自己的意志建立自己的社会身份,这意味着主人公真正成熟并最终成长起来。通过对主人公成长历程的分析,埃里森为非裔美国人指出一条明路,即植根美国社会,了解黑人历史,回归黑人传统文化,只有这样非裔美国人才能找到自我并认定自我。
[Abstract]:Ralph Allison (1914-1994) is one of the most influential writers in black American literature since 1950s. He is also an outstanding literary critic and one of the most representative pioneers of American cultural studies. As Ellison's most outstanding work, the Invisible Man is regarded as a classic work that reflects the life of modern black Americans. From a unique perspective, the author shows the protagonist's painstaking process of self-reflection and gradual awakening and growing up. The growing up novel is a novel with the theme of the character's growing up. The author of this paper focuses on Ellison's "the Invisible Man" as the object of study, which reflects the changing process of the protagonist's thinking and psychology from childish to mature. This paper attempts to analyze the growth process of the unnamed protagonist in the novel from the perspective of the growth novel. The protagonist's growing up process has something in common with the growth of ordinary young people. But with black skin, he wants to find himself and his identity in a society bleached by white culture, destined to go through a process different from most young people, destined to be full of hardships and frustrations. By tracing back to the plot structure model of the growth novel, that is, innocence, frustration, epiphany, maturity, to reflect the protagonist's difficult growth course, And to millions of black people who have lost themselves in the society where white culture is the mainstream. The main body of this thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes the heroine's innocence in the South of the United States, which is mainly manifested in the blind worship of white culture and the disregard of black culture. The second chapter mainly analyzes the setbacks that the protagonist experienced when he left for New York. Everything goes forward in twists and turns, especially the growth of human beings, from "death" to "rebirth" and then to loss. After a series of ups and downs, the protagonist is gradually awakened. Chapter three mainly analyzes the most important epiphany experienced by the protagonist in Harlem. Epiphany is an indispensable part of the growing up novel. Chapter 4th analyzes that the protagonist, after falling into the basement, completely gives up his illusory past and decides to establish his own social identity by his own will. This means that the protagonist really matures and eventually grows up. By analyzing the protagonist's growth process, Ellison points out a clear path for African-Americans, that is, to take root in American society, to understand black history, and to return to black traditional culture. Only in this way can African-Americans find themselves and identify themselves.
