创伤中的成长:《猴桥》创伤叙事研究

【摘要】:越裔美国作家曹兰(Lao Ca0)的处女作小说《猴桥》(Monkey Bridge)被称为是“越裔美国人撰写的第一部关于越战和其影响的小说。”曹兰将越南人民生活的过去与现在,东方与西方,用两个连环相扣的故事描绘出来。第一个故事的讲述者是一名17岁的越南女孩,她向读者讲述了越南人移民美国后的生活点滴;而另一个故事则是由母亲所写的信件向读者讲述了有关故国越南的传统及历史和她们家庭的秘密,复仇和黑暗的过往。纵观国内外研究现状,尽管近年来越裔美国人的文学作品逐渐进入读者和评论界视野,但在关注度和名气上仍然与华裔文学相差较远,故而选取具有代表性的越裔美国文学文本具有一定的研究意义。《猴桥》从经历越战的女性的角度,通过描述她们在越南和美国生活的经历,力图还原部分越战历史,让读者更为贴近那一段战争过往。小说不仅为读者详尽地描述了许多关于越南的风土人情,民族传统,生活习俗和越南传说等,也从各个方面对比了越南移民在美国生活与越南生活的截然不同,充斥着国家与民族、家庭、文化差异的创伤。越裔美国人所承受的创伤多重性则可以将这一部小说归类为对创伤性记忆的书写。论文通过对其创伤记忆、文化、历史背景等层面的探究,揭示作家通过诉诸话语而非对抗的方式来消除“他者”与“自我”的对立,表达自身对多元文化融合共生的向往,实现民族沟通和文化交流的二元融合的意旨,婉转再现后殖民主义、东方主义、文化冲突等方面的族裔文学主题。通过对作者生平及评论界对作品的反响情况,以及对作品的主要内容和所反映的主题的相关分析,论文阐述了《猴桥》和相关材料的国内外研究现状、研究的目的意义及创新点;进而从对创伤和创伤叙事理论作出了分析:首先介绍了创伤理论的含义及分类、创伤叙事的历史沿革以及族裔创伤文学的特征,然后对作品中遭受创伤的中心人物女主人公麦(Mai),她的母亲清(Thanh)和她们所属的越裔美国人群体的症状的呈现,从战争、家庭和文化差异创伤的角度结合理论分析该群体创伤的多重性。在此基础之上,具体描述了越裔母女的相互理解让小女主人公在创伤下不断成长的历程,例举了现实中越裔美国人在创伤记忆下为走出文化冲突的困境走向文化融合而作出的巨大努力,而作者曹兰是如何从写作中实现自我的进步也有了相应的分析。在论文的总结部分,则通过对文本的深入阅读和剖析,突出了《猴桥》中创伤叙事研究的可行性,再次强调了它所诉说的主题意义--越裔美国女作家曹兰正是运用创伤性书写重建了自身的族裔身份,启迪饱受创伤的越裔美国人不仅要植根于越南民族的历史文化传统,在当今全球化趋势及美国主流文化影响下还要与时俱进,认同自身的双重文化身份,乐观坚定地面对生活,自信的面对人生,发出属于越裔美国人独特的声音。
[Abstract]:The American writer Cao Lan (Lao Ca0) debut novel "monkey bridge" (Monkey Bridge) is referred to as "the first African American to write about the Vietnam War and its impact on the novel." Cao Lan will be the past and present life of the Vietnamese people, East and West, connected with two serial story description the first one out. The narrator of the story is a Vietnamese girl at the age of 17, she tells the story of the Vietnamese immigrants in the United States after life to the reader; and the other one is written by mother's letters about his Vietnam tradition and history and their family secrets to the reader, revenge and dark the past. According to the research situation at home and abroad in recent years, although the American literary works gradually enter the field of vision of readers and critics, but the attention and reputation of Chinese literature and still far away, I select representative Vietnamese American Literary text is the significance of the research. Some experience from the monkey bridge > Vietnam female perspective by describing their lives in Vietnam and the experience of the United States, trying to restore some of the Vietnam War, let the reader closer to the past. A war novel not only for readers a detailed description about many Vietnamese National traditions, local customs and practices. Vietnam customs and legends, from all aspects compared to the Vietnamese immigrants living in the United States and Vietnam in life are quite different, with the country and the nation, family, cultural differences of multiple trauma for more Americans to bear this can be classified as a novel of traumatic memory writing. Through the culture the memories of the trauma, and explore the historical level, reveal the author by resorting to discourse and non confrontational approach to eliminate the "other" and "self" to express their own opposition. The symbiosis of multicultural yearning, realize national communication and cultural exchange of the two yuan will reappear after fusion, mildly colonialism, Orientalism, cultural conflicts and ethnic literature theme. According to the biography and the comment author of response works, and correlative analysis of the main content of the work and reflect the theme of the thesis describes the research status of "monkey bridge > and related materials at home and abroad, the purpose and significance of the study and innovation points; and then from the trauma and trauma narrative theory analyzed: first introduces the meaning and classification with the trauma theory, trauma narrative history and characteristics of ethnic trauma literature, then to in the works of trauma center heroine wheat (Mai), her mother Qing (Thanh) and they belong to more American groups symptoms appear, from the war, a family and cultural differences The combination of multiple injury analysis the collective trauma theory.
