怪诞双性同体视角下麦卡勒斯主要作品研究

卡森·麦卡勒斯是二十世纪美国南方一位非常独特的女作家。她在短暂的生命里创作了为数不少的文学作品,其作品致力于描写人类的精神孤独,突出表现了在父权制社会中令人窒息的“精神隔绝”环境下女性寻求自身身份的尝试与抗争。本文集中研究了卡森·麦卡勒斯三部重要作品中的三位女主人公:米克·凯利,弗兰淇·亚当斯,以及爱米丽亚·埃文斯,她们分别来自麦卡勒斯的《心是独孤的猎手》(1940),《婚礼的成员》(1946),以及《伤心咖啡馆之歌》(1943)。这三位女主人公的共同特点是她们都有着男子特质,或怀着男子般的抱负,她们与传统南方淑女的形象相去甚远。米克和弗兰淇是处于青春期的少女,在她们被迫接受女性身份时,她们的身份认同给她们带来了苦恼。爱米丽亚小姐则在这个父权社会中像男人一样成功,并从心里藐视传统南方淑女气质,但她最终被打败,为她的行为付出了代价。本文采用怪诞双性同体理论来研究这三位女主人公如何在父权社会中获得她们的身份,通过这些非传统的南方女主角的抗争及其抗争的结果,揭示麦卡勒斯作品中的动态身份与张力。
