高中生英语词汇学习策略的调查研究

【摘要】: 词汇是语言的建筑材料,没有词汇就没有语言本身,因此词汇学习在整个语言学习系统中占有重要地位。但高中生普遍感到词汇学习是英语学习的一大难点,而新的高中英语课程标准对词汇量有了更高的要求,所以了解高中生整体的词汇学习策略的运用情况成了一个非常值得探讨的问题。本研究运用调查问卷和访谈的方法对浙江省某校的高一和高三年级的各两个班级共187名学生进行了调查和部分访谈,旨在了解高中生英语词汇学习观念和策略的使用的具体情况。 调查结果发现:虽然学生能运用多种词汇学习策略来进行词汇学习,但所有策略的平均值都没有大于4,各策略的使用在总体水平上偏低,尤其是元认知策略(除选择性注意策略外)和社交/情感策略。其次,高三学生无论是在元认知策略还是认知策略的使用上,普遍低于高一学生。男女学生和高低分组的学生在词汇学习策略的运用水平上也都存在差异,女生词汇学习策略的使用频率普遍高于男生;高分组学生比低分组学生更善于运用各种词汇学习策略。针对以上现状,笔者就几项高中生英语词汇学习策略的培养提出了相应的建议。 本次调查结果对词汇学习和教学有一定的借鉴和启示作用。一方面,学生应该对自己的词汇学习过程进行规划和管理,在词汇记忆过程中通过使用多种策略以达到最佳的记忆效果。另一方面,教师要有意识地结合教学内容帮助学生尝试运用各种词汇学习策略,使学生提高词汇记忆的效果。
[Abstract]:Vocabulary is the building material of language, and there is no language without vocabulary, so vocabulary learning plays an important role in the whole language learning system. However, senior high school students generally feel that vocabulary learning is a major difficulty in English learning, and the new English curriculum standards for senior high schools have higher requirements for vocabulary. Therefore, understanding the overall vocabulary learning strategies of senior high school students has become a problem worth discussing. In this study, a total of 187 students in two classes of grade one and three in a school in Zhejiang Province were investigated and some interviews were conducted by means of questionnaires and interviews. The purpose of this paper is to understand the use of English vocabulary learning concepts and strategies in senior high school students. The results show that although students can use a variety of vocabulary learning strategies for vocabulary learning, the average value of all strategies is not greater than 4, and the use of each strategy is on the low side. In particular, metacognitive strategies (in addition to selective attention strategies) and social / affective strategies. Secondly, the use of metacognitive strategies and cognitive strategies of senior three students is generally lower than that of senior one students. There are also differences in the level of use of vocabulary learning strategies between male and female students and students of high and low groups. The frequency of using vocabulary learning strategies of girls is generally higher than that of boys; students with high scores are better at using various vocabulary learning strategies than those with low scores. In view of the above situation, the author puts forward some suggestions on how to cultivate English vocabulary learning strategies for senior high school students. The results of this survey have a certain reference and enlightenment to vocabulary learning and teaching. On the one hand, students should plan and manage their vocabulary learning process, and use a variety of strategies to achieve the best memory effect in the process of vocabulary memory. On the other hand, teachers should consciously combine teaching content to help students try to use various vocabulary learning strategies to improve the effect of vocabulary memory.
