基于学生需求分析对冀教版初中英语教材中阅读材料的评价

【摘要】:在语言教学中,教材起着至关重要的作用。“教材为学生提供的语言材料是学生学习语言知识和发展语言技能的重要来源;教材中的语言实践活动和练习是学生学习知识和发展技能的重要途径和过程。”(程晓堂,2011)而在英语教材中,阅读占有很大的比重。而且阅读也是英语教学和各类语言测试的主要内容。为了充分使用教材中的阅读材料,非常有必要进行教材评价。国内外诸多学者对教材评价提出了许多不同的观点。一些学者认为教材评价的主要目的是检测教材是否符合大纲要求以及教师和学生的需要。英语教材评价不仅可以为教师提供有关教学的实用知识,还有助于教师和学生了解教材的特点。在教材评价的过程中应遵循的原则主要包括效果原则和效率原则。此外,教材评价可以看作是主观分析与客观分析相匹配比较的过程。在这一过程中还应关注课程大纲的体现、教材的教学效果,以及教材评价的多角度性。近年来,越来越多的学者和一线教师开始致力于探索适合国情的教材分析的方法,相关结论和研究成果也日益增加。本研究结合学生的需求分析河北省出版社和加拿大国际交流中心合编的冀教版初中英语教材中的阅读材料。随着2011年新修订的《英语课程标准》问世,冀教版初中英语教材也开始了新一轮的修订。至2013年,全套初中英语教材的修订工作已经基本完成。本研究旨在理论性地对新版冀教版初中英语教材中的阅读材料进行评价,以研究该材料是否符合学生的需求,并分析阅读材料的优点和不足。这有助于教师和学生基于评价结果在实际教学中灵活调整阅读材料的使用。本研究的研究对象包括邯郸市第十四中学七年级至九年级的300名学生和8名教师。作者首先对该套英语教材中的阅读材料进行了理论性的评价,该评价以Cunningsworth、程晓堂以及其他专家的阅读评价标准为依据。采用了两份调查问卷和访谈作为研究工具。一份调查问卷是关于学生在英语阅读中的需求,另一份调查问卷是关于学生对教材中的阅读材料的评价。对教师的访谈旨在了解教师在教学过程中对阅读材料的使用情况,以及他们对该套教材中阅读材料的整体看法。调查结果表明,学生和教师都对本套教材给予了较高的评价,教材的阅读材料基本满足了学生的学习需求。对大多数学生而言,阅读材料中的大部分话题都与他们的生活紧密相关。教材中的阅读材料介绍了许多英语国家的文化并且深化了中国传统文化以及社会主义核心价值,因此通过对课文的学习,他们还可以了解外国的文化,并且对中国传统文化有了更深的了解。总体上,大多数学生和教师对冀教版英语教材中的阅读材料及相关的话题、内容、文化及其他方面持肯定的观点。最后,本研究结合调查问卷和访谈研究方法所得结果向教师和学生提出了一些关于提高英语阅读教学的建议。
[Abstract]:Teaching materials play an important role in language teaching. "the language materials provided by textbooks are an important source for students to learn language knowledge and develop language skills, and language practice and practice in textbooks are important ways and processes for students to learn knowledge and develop their skills." (Cheng Xiaotang 2011) and in English textbooks, reading accounts for a large proportion. And reading is also the main content of English teaching and various language tests. In order to make full use of the reading materials, it is necessary to evaluate the teaching materials. Many scholars at home and abroad have put forward many different views on the evaluation of teaching materials. Some scholars believe that the main purpose of textbook evaluation is to check whether the textbook meets the requirements of the syllabus and the needs of teachers and students. The evaluation of English teaching materials can not only provide teachers with practical knowledge about teaching, but also help teachers and students to understand the characteristics of teaching materials. The principles to be followed in the course of teaching material evaluation include the principle of effect and the principle of efficiency. In addition, the evaluation of teaching materials can be regarded as the process of matching subjective analysis with objective analysis. In this process, attention should also be paid to the embodiment of the syllabus, the teaching effect of the teaching material and the multi-angle evaluation of the teaching material. In recent years, more and more scholars and first-line teachers have begun to explore the appropriate teaching materials analysis methods, and the relevant conclusions and research results are increasing. Based on the needs of the students, this study analyzes the reading materials in the junior middle school English textbooks compiled by Hebei Publishing House and the Canadian Center for International Exchange. With the new revision of English Curriculum Standards in 2011, a new round of revision of junior high school English teaching materials has begun. By 2013, the revision of the full set of junior high school English textbooks has been basically completed. The purpose of this study is to theoretically evaluate the reading materials in the new edition of Hebei Education Edition, in order to study whether the reading materials meet the needs of the students, and to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the reading materials. This will help teachers and students to adjust the use of reading materials flexibly in practical teaching based on the evaluation results. The subjects of this study included 300 students and 8 teachers from Grade 7 to Grade 9 in Handan No. 14 Middle School. The author first makes a theoretical evaluation of the reading materials in this set of English textbooks, which is based on the reading evaluation criteria of Cunningsworth, Cheng Xiaotang and other experts. Two questionnaires and interviews were used as research tools. One questionnaire is about students' needs in English reading, the other is about students' evaluation of reading materials in textbooks. The purpose of the interview is to understand the teachers' use of reading materials in the teaching process and their overall views on the reading materials in the teaching materials. The results show that both students and teachers have a high evaluation of this set of textbooks, and the reading materials of the textbooks basically meet the students' learning needs. For most students, most of the topics in reading materials are closely related to their lives. The reading material in the textbook introduces the cultures of many English-speaking countries and deepens the traditional Chinese culture and the core values of socialism. Therefore, by studying the text, they can also learn about foreign cultures. And to the Chinese traditional culture has a deeper understanding. In general, most students and teachers hold positive views on the reading materials and related topics, content, culture and other aspects of the English textbook. Finally, some suggestions on how to improve the teaching of English reading are presented to teachers and students based on the results of questionnaires and interviews.
