低阶层大学生的炫耀性消费:心理补偿视角

【摘要】:近年来在网络贷款席卷校园的背景之下,低阶层大学生负债消费事件日趋增多,其中不乏造成恶劣影响的极端事件,如因债自杀等。这种结果令人唏嘘,更令人疑惑,为什么他们会表现出如此强烈的炫耀性消费欲望呢?本研究立足于社会现实问题,以补偿补偿消费理论为切入点,尝试从心理补偿的视角来解读低阶层大学生的炫耀性消费行为。研究一以补偿消费视角直接采用问卷法,招募在校大学生作为研究被试,通过在武汉的几所高校发放问卷,共得到有效样本299名。通过建立回归分析的方程模型,最后证明低阶层大学生的确比高阶层大学生有着更为强烈的炫耀性消费动机,并且自尊在低阶层者这种炫耀性消费动机间起完全中介的作用。在研究二中,从低阶层大学生本身来解读他们的炫耀性消费行为。研究二使用实验法,选取主、客观社会阶层均处于高、中、低三个水平的79名大学生被试。将状态自尊作为调节变量,通过启动任务让被试试暂时处于较高或较低的状态自尊下,考察他们的炫耀性消费倾向,结果显示低阶层大学生只有在低自尊状态下才会表现出远高于高阶层大学生的炫耀性消费倾向,处在高自尊状态下的低阶层大学生其炫耀性消费倾向于其他两个阶层的被试没有显著差异。在研究三中,从外在条件寻找低阶层者通过消费获取心理补偿原因,考察低阶层大学生炫耀性消费是否是为了寻求炫耀性商品的符号补偿。研究同样采用实验法选取了107名大学生被试,将商品符号作为调节变量,通过阶层操纵的范式使被试处于高、低主观阶层条件下,看他们对商品的购买意愿。结果显示面对地位符号商品时,低主观阶层被试愿意支付的钱要显著的高于高主观阶层下的被试,而面对无符号价值的商品时,二者则没有显著差别。三个小研究以补偿消费视角看待低阶层大学生的炫耀性消费行为,为引导低阶层大学生树立正确的消费观提供了一些借鉴意义。
