布朗大学通识教育研究

【摘要】：在知识急剧增多和信息化加速发展的当今社会,基础知识相对稳定,而通识教育是基础知识领域最大的“守护者”。同时,通识教育已成为高校人才培养的重要途径。美国布朗大学作为世界上优秀的研究型大学之一,始终高举本科教育旗帜,注重发展通识教育,推行课程完全选修方式,并在全美独树一帜。本文主要研究了布朗大学“自由选修型”的通识教育。文章首先界定了“通识教育”及其相关概念,从“通识教育”这一大学教育观的角度,提出本文的分析框架,包括布朗大学通识教育的历史与发展、目标体系、课程设计以及质量保障机制,详细剖析其自由选修课程的独特之处,分析布朗大学实施通识教育的成功因素,即从资源、教学、课程、指导、管理与评估等环节形成统一的“链条”,为实施通识教育提供“合力”。布朗大学通识教育由于其开放、自主、自由的原则,深受广大师生的欢迎和青睐,通识教育已成为布朗大学本科教育的一大特色。通过对布朗大学“自由选修型”通识教育的系统性研究,以期能为我国高校进行通识教育的理论探索和实践改革提供一些借鉴意义。
[Abstract]:In today's society, where knowledge is rapidly increasing and information is accelerating, basic knowledge is relatively stable, while general education is the largest "guardian" in the field of basic knowledge. As one of the best research universities in the world, Brown University of the United States has always held high the banner of undergraduate education, paid attention to the development of general education, and carried out the way of complete elective courses. And it is unique in the United States. This paper mainly studies the general education of "free elective" at Brown University. At first, the article defines "general education" and its related concepts, from the perspective of "general education" as a college education concept. Put forward the analysis frame of this paper, including the history and development of general education of Brown University, target system, curriculum design and quality assurance mechanism, and analyze the unique features of its free elective courses in detail. This paper analyzes the successful factors of carrying out general education in Brown University, that is, from the aspects of resources, teaching, curriculum, guidance, management and evaluation, it forms a unified "chain" to provide "joint forces" for the implementation of general education. The principle of autonomy and freedom is welcomed and favored by teachers and students. General education has become a major feature of undergraduate education in Brown University. In order to provide some reference significance for the theoretical exploration and practical reform of general education in colleges and universities in China.
