云南少数民族中学生人格特征和英语语言水平关系调查研究

【摘要】:中国少数民族地区中小学外语教学理论与方法研究一直是国家关注的领域,其中一些好的实践和面临的困难也是亟待提炼总结和调查研究的重点。在过去二十多年的时间里,二/外语学习研究的中心已从对语言政策、课堂教学和语言输入等转向对学习主体和学习过程的研究。在该领域的研究中,个体学习者差异的研究和人格因素被认为是其中最重要的变量之一(刘润清,1990)。相关研究(王雪梅,2000;D?rnyei,2005)证实人格特征和英语语言水平之间存在关联性。然而,无论是理论研究还是实证研究,关于少数民族中学生的人格特征和他们英语水平之间的相关性的研究还非常欠缺。本研究对云南少数民族中学生的人格特征和他们的英语测试成绩进行了调查分析,以期为少数民族地区英语教师的教学改进提供方向和思路。本研究主要采用问卷调查法收集了云南省普洱市孟连县红塔中学的306名傣族、拉祜族和佤族中学生的人格特征及他们英语成绩。《中学生人格五因素问卷》(FFPQ)(周晖等,2000)被用于测评学生的人格特征,普洱市教育局统一进行的英语水平考试被用于检测学生的英语语言水平。在人格问卷(FFPQ)调查完成之后,单因素方差被用于分析傣族、拉祜族和佤族学生在人格特征方面是否存在差异;基于从问卷调查和英语水平测试收集的相关数据,单因素方差和回归分析被运用于分析这些学生的人格特征与他们的英语语言水平之间是否存在显著相关性。结果表明1)佤族学生和拉祜族学生在外向性(E)上存在显著差异,和傣族学生在神经质(N)方面存在显著差异;2)顺同性(A)和神经质(N)与英语语言水平之间存在显著相关性;3)由于傣族、拉祜族和佤族学生在顺同性上没有显著差异,所以傣族、拉祜族和佤族学生英语语言水平的差异很难用顺同性加以解释;4)傣族和佤族学生在神经质(N)方面存在显著差异,所以,他们的英语语言水平差异与神经质密切相关。最后,根据上述的研究结果,本文对少数民族地区教师和学生提供了英语教与学方面的建议。
[Abstract]:The research on the theory and method of foreign language teaching in primary and secondary schools in minority areas of China has always been an area of national concern, and some good practices and difficulties are also the key points to be summarized and investigated.In the past twenty years, the focus of the second / foreign language study has shifted from the study of language policy, classroom teaching and language input to the study of the subject and process of learning.In this field, the study of individual learner differences and personality factors are considered to be one of the most important variables (Liu Runqing / 1990).The correlation between personality traits and English language proficiency was confirmed by a related study (Wang Xuemei 2000 Dzrnyeihe 2005).However, both theoretical and empirical studies on the correlation between the personality characteristics of minority middle school students and their English proficiency are still lacking.This study investigates the personality characteristics and English test scores of minority middle school students in Yunnan in order to provide directions and ideas for improving the teaching of English teachers in minority areas.In this study, 306 Dai people from Hongta Middle School in Menglian County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, were collected by questionnaire.Personality characteristics of Lahu and WA middle school students and their scores in English. FFPQN (Zhou Hui et al. 2000) was used to assess the personality characteristics of students.The Pu'er Education Bureau's English proficiency Test is used to test students' English proficiency.After the completion of the personality questionnaire FFPQ, the univariate variance was used to analyze whether there were differences in personality characteristics among Dai, Lahu and WA students, based on the data collected from questionnaires and English proficiency tests.Univariate variance and regression analysis were used to analyze whether there was a significant correlation between these students' personality traits and their English language proficiency.The results showed that: 1) there were significant differences in extroversion between WA and Lahu nationality students.There is a significant correlation between Dai students and Dai students in neuroticism (A) and neuroticism (N0) and English language proficiency. (3) there is no significant difference between Dai, Lahu and WA students in the same sex, so the Dai, Lahu and WA students have no significant differences in homogeneity.The difference of English language level between Lahu and WA students is difficult to be explained by homogeneity. (4) there are significant differences in neuroticism between Dai and WA students, so the differences in English language level are closely related to neuroticism.Finally, based on the above findings, this paper provides some suggestions on English teaching and learning for teachers and students in minority areas.
