总经理掌控力、董事长——总经理垂直对特征与创新持续性

【摘要】:由于创新活动的调整成本较高,突然中断会造成巨大损失,因此,保持创新的持续性对于企业发展具有重要意义。高层管理者作为战略的决策者和主要执行者,是影响企业战略和组织绩效的重要因素。在"两职分离"的中国企业中,董事长与总经理是高管团队的核心,构成了最基本的领导二元体。基于此,本文关注于创新活动中的高层管理者因素,重点研究了总经理掌控力、董事长和总经理之间的异质性特征对于创新持续性的影响。利用2003—2014年A股制造业上市公司样本数据,分析结果显示,总经理的强掌控力显著地促进了创新的持续进行,而总经理掌控力与创新持续性之间的关系受到了董事长—总经理的性别、教育水平和任期等差异的阻碍。本文的研究揭示了高管团队的权力特征和互动特征影响创新活动的作用机理和实际效果,对于企业如何保持持续创新、优化高管团队配置具有一定的启示意义。
[Abstract]:Because of the high adjustment cost of innovation activities, sudden interruption will cause huge losses, so it is of great significance to maintain the sustainability of innovation for the development of enterprises. As the decision-maker and executor of strategy, senior management is an important factor that affects enterprise strategy and organizational performance. The chairman and the general manager are the core of the executive team and form the basic duality of leadership in the separated Chinese enterprises. Based on this, this paper focuses on the factors of senior management in innovation activities, focusing on the influence of the control power of general manager and the heterogeneity between chairman and general manager on innovation sustainability. Using the sample data of A share manufacturing listed companies from 2003 to 2014, the analysis results show that the strong control of the general manager has significantly promoted the continuation of innovation. The relationship between managing director control and innovation sustainability is hampered by differences in the chairman-general manager's gender, educational level and tenure. The research of this paper reveals that the power characteristics and interactive characteristics of the executive team affect the mechanism and actual effect of the innovation activities. It has certain enlightenment significance for the enterprise how to maintain the continuous innovation and optimize the configuration of the executive team.
