【摘要】：改革开放以来,旅游业在中国飞速发展,每天都会有大量的外国游客涌入中国。英语作为世界通用语言,是中国导游与外国游客沟通与交流的桥梁。作为民间的外交大使,导游的一言一行都直接影响着外国游客对中国的印象和认识。因此,导游英语应尽量做到得体礼貌,这也是对导游最基本的要求。然而,由于中西方思维方式和文化背景的差异,导游在接待外国游客时经常会有意无意地说出一些不礼貌的话语。这些不礼貌的话语会使导游与游客之间产生误会,甚至会带来一些不愉快的冲突。这直接影响了我国旅游业的经济收益和旅游业的发展。礼貌原则作为指导人们如何礼貌地沟通与交流的基本准则,对于导游英语也具有极大的指导意义。本论文从对礼貌原则的遵守与违反两方面对导游英语进行了研究。通过对大量例子的分析,首先总结出了为什么导游英语要遵守礼貌原则,遵守的表现以及遵守的效果。然后提出了导游英语故意违反礼貌原则的语境,以及无意违反礼貌原则的主要原因。最后,为确保礼貌原则在导游英语中的正确运用,本文从三个方面对从业者提出了建议：加深对礼貌原则本身的理解、增强跨文化意识和提高语言技能。
