【摘要】：人类经济社会的快速发展,推动着翻译实践的经纬外延不断扩展,同时也推动翻译研究呈现主体多元化、视角立体化、途径科学化的特点。这无疑在一定程度上增加了人们对翻译的认知难度。因此,译界必须不断加深理论水平和提高实践能力。作为一名MTI的学生理应通过加强翻译实践提升翻译研究能力。笔者结合MTI培养要求和自身实际选取TheChinaBThm:Why China Will Not Rule the World(《为何中国会"强而不霸"》)作为本次翻译实践的材料,并运用目的论指导本次翻译实践,综合使用多种翻译方法和技巧完成翻译任务。在进行深入总结和反思本次翻译实践的基础上撰写翻译实践报告,力争提升翻译实践能力和增强翻译理论素养,为将来投身于我国的社会主义现代化事业进行充分的准备。笔者首先通过对 The China Boom:Why China Will Not Rule the World(《为何中国会"强而不霸"》)(节选)的英汉翻译文本进行分析整理,继而对笔记材料进行充分思考和整理,在征求导师等各方意见后撰写该翻译实践报告。该报告共分四个部分,从翻译背景起笔,接着笔对原文本相关信息进行介绍,然后重点分析翻译的过程,最后进行总结;笔者试图各部分结构严密,重点突出、主次分明。笔者撰写本篇翻译实践报告时,始终将目的论的相关原理、适用方法同The China Boom:Why China Will Not Rule the World(《为何中国会"强而不霸"》)的翻译过程进行结合,通过案例分析阐述观点,进行理论提炼和升华。The China Boom:Why China Will Not Rule the World(《为何中国会"强而不霸"》)的作者是具备深厚学术背景的美国约翰·霍普金斯大学的社会学副教授Ho-fung Hung(孔诰烽)。该书以一个美国高层学者的视角认知我国经济当前的快速发展的实际;该书有效驳斥了当前流行"中国霸权梦"的谬论;同时,也客观说明了中国经济发展的困难和障碍;揭示了中国的发展将是"强而不霸"的趋势。对其翻译不仅可以让更多国人以跨文化视角认知国情,思考影响我国发展进程的各种因素,更能充分认识西方的精英文化,提升"中国梦"背景下的文化自信、理论自信和制度自信。因此,对该书的翻译具有多重意义和价值。
