从符号视角看翻译中视觉非语言符号的信息处理

【摘要】：翻译是为消除不同符号系统间交流的障碍而将一个符号系统的信息变为另一符号系统相应形式,使信息再现的过程。这个符号系统既包含了语言符号也包含了非语言符号。从认知学与符号学的角度来说,文本是符号载体,既包含语言符号又包含视觉非语言符号的交际单位。文本翻译过程中语言以及视觉非语言符号元素都发挥着传递信息的作用。因此,我们对文本意义和功能的理解不能仅仅停留在语言符号层面,它还包括视觉非语言符号所承载的各种意义和功能。本文从认知学与符号学的视角来研究科技英语翻译过程中视觉非语言符号的信息处理。随着全球信息化的到来,国际科技交流日益频繁,科技类文本的翻译需求量剧增。用户对科技文本的翻译从质量和数量上都有了更高的要求。如何在科技类文本的信息处理中,既将语言符号所承载的意义准确的翻译出来,又能将视觉非语言符号在科技文本中所传递的信息和功能准确地翻译出来,是科技翻译工作者要面对的一项具有挑战性的任务。本文的主要研究目的之一就是要从认知学与符号学视角来研究科技翻译中视觉非语言符号的信息处理障碍和问题,进而减少漏译和误译,在非语言符号翻译实践中消除不同符号间的交流障碍,提高科技翻译质量。本文研究的另一个目的是探讨跨文化科技交流中视觉非语言符号的影响,找出科技文化传播中视觉非语言符号的英译策略。本文采用定性为主、定量为辅并结合内省分析的研究方法,通过对科技英语类文本,如计算机文本翻译中的信息处理问题,对非语言符号进行研究和定性分析。这种内省是以一定语料为基础的,格赖斯和塞尔的认知意向意义观是最常用的理论支撑,进而通过观察分析语料界定非语言符号的科技翻译。通过认知语言学理论,运用自然观察法对所收集数据进行分析研究,进一步探究非语言符号科技英语翻译的特点和本质。通过对符号性质的任意性和差异性的对比,阐述符号学对非语言符号翻译的影响。很少有研究者会从认知学和符号学视角对视觉非语言符号的科技翻译英译文本策略做出研究。本研究试图通过认知学和符号学从视觉非语言符号的翻译研究中得出翻译方法和策略。本文作者提出将创译法用于非语言符号科技翻译的信息处理。这篇文章的研究结果揭示了以下三点非语言符号的重要性:译员认知能力;语用翻译和符合受众认知习惯。文章中提出了视觉非语言符号信息处理在科技翻译的原则和策略。同时,文章提出本义传递是翻译交际信号的基础,最终借助认知的自我指示理解这些信号,也就是在给定瞬间翻译出的结果。在解释像隐喻、图标和符号这样的现象时,通过翻译过程中必要的本义和理解的构建,把语境考虑在内。研究在科技翻译中视觉非语言符号信息处理的过程,其实是译者往返于作者与译本读者之间的过程。译者只有透彻理解原文文本总的符号世界,才能为译本读者提供最佳译文,符合真实意义。文本是符号载体,文本的意义和功能是符号所指的客体,研究非语言符号的翻译有助于使读者按照译语文化的社会规约来理解符号载体与符号所指客体之间的关系。本文总结了非语言符号在科技翻译中信息处理的重要性和必要性;而且,由于在语言、文化背景、自然环境、思维模式、宗教信仰和价值观等方面的差异,视觉非语言符号的翻译应使用不同的翻译方法和策略。
[Abstract]:Translation is to eliminate barriers to communication between different symbol system and a symbol system of information into a symbol system of corresponding form, make the process of reproduction of information. One of the main purpose of this paper is to study from cognitive and semiotic perspective to study the translation of science and technology in the visual information processing problems and non language symbols, and then reduce the omission and mistranslation, eliminate communication barriers between different symbols in the non language symbol in translation practice, improve the quality of EST translation. Another purpose of this study is to explore the visual language of cross-cultural communication in non science and technology The influence of word symbols, to find out the translation strategies of visual non language symbol communication technology culture. This paper uses qualitative and quantitative research methods supplemented by combining introspective analysis, based on scientific English texts, such as the problem of computer information processing in text translation, conduct research and qualitative analysis of non linguistic symbols.
