顺应理论视角下英语广播新闻语篇中模糊限制语的研究

【摘要】：语言的模糊性,正如其精确性一样,是人类语言的本质属性之一。模糊语言广泛存在于我们的日常交流之中。自语言的模糊性得到关注以来,国内外大量学者分别从不同视角对其进行了研究和探讨。模糊限制语,作为模糊语言的重要组成部分,不仅是一种语言的选择,也是一种交际策略。模糊限制语这一概念最早由美国语言学家Lakoff在20世纪70年代首次提出。随后,Ellen F.Prince,Joel Frader和Charles Bosk从语用学的角度对模糊限制语进行了解释和分类,该分类标准被众多研究所采用。随着对模糊限制语关注度的提高,它的研究领域也逐渐拓宽。从20世纪80年代末到90年代初,中国学者开始了对模糊限制语的研究。伍铁平是将模糊限制语引入中国的第一人。受其影响国内众多学者渐渐开始关注模糊限制语,但大多数都集中在对一些特定文体中模糊限制语的研究如商业话语、学术话语和文学话语。相比之下,对新闻语篇中的模糊限制语,尤其是对英语广播新闻语篇中的模糊限制语研究较少。本文以BBC(英国广播公司)和CRI(中国国际广播电台)英语广播新闻语篇中的模糊限制语作为主要研究对象,基于Lakoff对模糊限制语的定义及Prince等人对模糊限制语的分类标准,在顺应理论指导下,采用定性和定量分析相结合的方法,通过自建语料库,对英语广播新闻语篇中出现的模糊限制语进行研究。本文通过语料库分析软件AntConc 3.4.3 w,对BBC和CRI英语广播新闻语篇中模糊限制语的使用频率和分布特点进行了定量分析。定性分析主要用于对模糊限制语的定义和分类,从顺应理论角度解释模糊限制语出现在英语广播新闻语篇中的原因,并分析归纳模糊限制语在英语广播新闻语篇中的语用功能。笔者随机选取100篇BBC新闻和100篇CRI新闻自建语料库。BBC和CRI两个语料库,共计47959字,时间跨度从2011年1月至2015年12月,所选新闻均来自BBC和CRI官网,语料具有较高权威性。本文主要探究以下三个研究问题:1)英语广播新闻语篇中模糊限制语的频率和分布有何特点?2)如何从顺应理论角度解释英语广播新闻语篇中的模糊限制语?3)英语广播新闻语篇中的模糊限制语有何语用功能?通过对数据的收集和分析,本文得出以下结论:1)英语广播新闻语篇中存在模糊限制语,且各个类别均有出现。在BBC和CRI两个语料库中,变动型模糊限制语的比例远高于缓和型模糊限制语所占的比例。而在模糊限制语的四个子类中,范围变动语所占比例最大,而直接缓和语最少。2)基于顺应理论,笔者分析并解释了英语广播新闻语篇中模糊限制语存在的原因,模糊限制语在英语广播新闻语篇中的使用是对心理世界、社交世界和物理世界的顺应。3)在这些顺应过程中,模糊限制语发挥着重要作用。模糊限制语在英语广播新闻中的恰当使用不仅可以增加报道的准确性和说服力,而且有助于保持新闻表达的礼貌和得体,同时达到保护新闻报道者和信息提供者的效果。此外,由于英语广播新闻的播出速度快,模糊限制语在英语广播新闻中的使用有助于突出报道重点,使听众更易于把握新闻主旨。
[Abstract]:The ambiguity of language, as its accuracy, is one of the essential attribute of human language. Vague language exists widely in our daily communication. Since the ambiguity of language are of concern, many scholars at home and abroad from different perspectives on the research and study. Hedges, as an important part of fuzzy the language is not only a kind of linguistic choice, but also a communicative strategy. The concept of hedges was first proposed by the American linguist Lakoff first proposed in 1970s. Subsequently, Ellen F.Prince, Joel Frader and Charles Bosk are explained and the classification of Hedges from the pragmatic perspective, the standard of classification by many the study of hedges. With the increasing attention, its research areas have gradually widened. From late 1980s to early 90s, Chinese scholars began to blur Study on hedges. Wu Tieping is the first person China hedges is introduced. Under the influence of many domestic scholars gradually began to pay attention to hedges, but most of them focus on Hedges in some specific stylistic studies such as commercial discourse, academic discourse and literary discourse. In contrast, fuzzy language restrictions on the news in the discourse, especially less restrictions on fuzzy language research in English broadcast news discourse. In this paper, BBC (Broadcasting British Corporation) and CRI (Chinese Radio International) hedges in English broadcast news discourse as the main research object, Lakoff on hedges definition and classification standard of Prince et al. Hedges based on adaptation theory, using the method of qualitative and quantitative analysis, through self built corpus, the fuzzy appeared in English broadcast news discourse restricted language Research. This paper through the corpus analysis software AntConc 3.4.3 W, BBC and CRI in English broadcast news discourse using the frequency and distribution of hedges are quantitatively analyzed. Qualitative analysis is mainly used for the definition and classification of Hedges from the perspective of adaptation theory, explain the reason of Hedges in English news discourse the pragmatic analysis and induction of Hedges in English news discourse. The author randomly selected 100 papers and 100 papers, BBC news CRI news.BBC and CRI two self built corpus corpus, a total of 47959 words, the time span from January 2011 to December 2015, the news from the BBC and the CRI official website, corpus with a higher authority. This paper mainly explores the following three research questions: 1) English broadcast news of Hedges in frequency and distribution characteristics? 2) how the theory from the perspective of adaptation Explain the ambiguity in English broadcast news discourse hedges? 3) of Hedges in English broadcast news discourse what pragmatic functions? Through the collection and analysis of data, this paper draws the following conclusions: 1) hedges exist in English broadcast news discourse, and each category has appeared in. BBC and CRI in two corpora, approximators is far higher than the proportion of shields proportion. While in the hedges four sub categories, rounders accounted for the largest proportion, and direct hedges at least.2) based on the adaptation theory, the author analysis and interpretation of English broadcast news discourse fuzzy limit language reasons exist, the use of Hedges in English news discourse is to the mental world, the social world and the physical world with.3) in these adaptation process, hedges play an important role. The appropriate use of Hedges in English broadcast news can not only increase the accuracy of the reports and persuasive, and polite and appropriate help to keep the News Express, at the same time to protect the news and information providers. In addition, the English broadcast news broadcast speed, the use of Hedges in English news broadcast the report helps to highlight the key, make the audience more easily grasp the news theme.
