基于语料库的“open”多义现象的认知分析

【摘要】:一词多义现象是英语当中最普遍存在且最重要的语义现象,因此,它一直以来都被作为语言学研究者的研究焦点。近年来,从认知语言学的角度分析这一语言现象成为一种普遍现象。本文正是从认知语言学的角度来分析"open"的多义现象。首先,本研究采用定量分析与定性分析相结合的方法,以英国国家语料库(BNC)为参照语料库,中国英语语料库(CECCHD)为观察语料库,对比研究多义词"open"在这两个语料库中的搭配行为。利用WordSmart2010检索软件检索出两个语料库中"open"的显著搭配词及观察频数,共现频数,MI值和Z值。结果表明,"open" 一词在两库中的均呈现中性语义韵;然而,"open"在两库中的搭配词差异较大。接着,作者对CECCHD中"open"的搭配特征做了研究,结果表明,主要受母语干扰和语内影响,CECCHD中的搭配词可分为三类:典型搭配,中间语搭配和异常搭配,并分析出造成这一现象的主要原因是母语干扰和语内影响。最后,基于原型范畴理论,作者根据CECCHD中"open"的检索项,归纳出"open"作为动词时有12个义项,其中"打开"为"open"的原型义项,其他义项均为扩展义。作者还从意象图式,隐喻和转喻这三大认知角度分析了"open"各义项间的关联,并得出了 "open"的语义网络图。综上所述,本研究从认知角度对多义词"open"的多义现象进行了较为全面的阐释,它对全面习得词汇具有一定的指导意open义:首先,语义韵有助于学习者掌握地道,自然的词语搭配。其次,借助意象图式,隐喻和转喻三大认知机制,学习者可以更形象地掌握多义词各义项之间的内在联系及词义扩展过程。
[Abstract]:Polysemy is the most common and important semantic phenomenon in English. Therefore, it has always been the focus of linguistics researchers. It has become a common phenomenon to analyze this linguistic phenomenon from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. This paper analyzes the polysemous phenomenon of "open" from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. Firstly, this study adopts the method of combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The British National Corpus (BNC) is used as the reference corpus, and the Chinese English Corpus (CECCHD) is used as the observation Corpus. The collocation behavior of polysemous word "open" in these two corpora is compared. The significant collocation words and observed frequency of "open" in the two corpora are retrieved by WordSmart2010 retrieval software. The results show that the word "open" shows neutral semantic rhyme in the two libraries, but the collocation of "open" in the two libraries is quite different. Then, the author studies the collocation characteristics of "open" in CECCHD, and the results show that, The collocation words in CECCHD can be divided into three categories: typical collocation, interlanguage collocation and abnormal collocation. The main causes of this phenomenon are mother tongue interference and intra-lingual influence. Based on prototype category theory, the author concludes that "open" as a verb has 12 meanings according to the retrieval items of "open" in CECCHD, in which "open" is the prototype meaning of "open", and other meanings are extended. Metaphor and metonymy are the three cognitive angles that analyze the relationship between the meanings of "open" and the semantic network diagram of "open". In summary, the present study comprehensively explains the polysemous phenomenon of the polysemous word "open" from the cognitive point of view. It has a certain guiding open meaning for the overall acquisition of vocabulary: first, semantic prosody helps learners master the authentic and natural collocation of words, and secondly, with the help of three cognitive mechanisms, image schema, metaphor and metonymy. Learners can grasp more vividly the internal relationship between the meanings of polysemous words and the process of word meaning expansion.
