大学公共英语学习需求与课程设置及实施效果研究

【摘要】:随着全球化的发展,英语作为国际通用语言,在高校的人才培养目标中占据了重要地位。2007年教育部发布《大学英语课程教学要求》,2013年,上海高校大学英语教学指导委员会基于上海市社会和经济发展情况发布了以学术英语为导向的《上海市大学英语教学参考框架》(试行),都对大学的公共英语课程提出了明确的指导和要求。高校在英语课程建设中投入了大量人力物力,同学们也在英语学习中投入了大量时间和精力。然而,2015年的一项毕业生调查结果显示,毕业生进入岗位之后,英语能力并未得到相应的重视。为了了解毕业生在岗位中的实际英语需求和对英语学习的反思建议,以及在校生的英语学习效果、满意度和对英语课程的需求,从而在此基础之上提出相应的改善建议,调整高校的公共英语课程设置,有效提高毕业生英语水平和个人素养,提升高校教学质量。本研究首先对国有企业、私营企业、政府机关和外资企业共12名毕业生进行了访谈,了解其所在行业和岗位对个人英语能力的需求和使用情况以及对大学公共英语课程的反思建议。此外,采用自编问卷对上海市三所不同层次的高校进行了调查,共回收有效问卷547份。问卷调查结果表明目前公共英语课程实施过程中存在几个问题:(1)内部动机不足,学习投入少;(2)英语能力薄弱,学习效果不佳;(3)课程满意度低,需求尚未满足。结合毕业生访谈和在校生问卷调查结果,本文总结了目前大学公共英语课程设置中存在的问题:课程结构单一,选择空间过小;课程设置偏离目标,需求尚未满足;课程内容缺乏趣味性,考核方式效度不足;学生投入不足,学习效果有待改善;四、六级考试反拨教学,课程趋向应试。基于这些问题,高校应该增加外语课程类别,形成科学合理的课程体系;改善英语教学内容和方式,调整考核方式;丰富课下活动,营造语言环境;加强引导,提高学生学习动机;在政府层面,应该加快英语水平考试改革,从而反推高校课程调整。最后,对研究中存在的不足进行了反思总结,并对进一步的研究提出了和展望。
[Abstract]:With the development of globalization, English, as an international common language, plays an important role in the goal of talent training in colleges and universities. In 2007, the Ministry of Education issued the requirements for College English Curriculum, 2013,Based on the social and economic development of Shanghai, the Shanghai College English Teaching steering Committee has issued the reference Framework for College English Teaching in Shanghai, which is guided by academic English.Clear guidance and requirements are put forward.Colleges and universities have invested a lot of manpower and material resources in English curriculum construction, and students have also invested a lot of time and energy in English learning.However, a survey of graduates in 2015 showed that English proficiency was not taken seriously after graduates entered their jobs.In order to understand the actual English needs of the graduates in their posts and their reflective suggestions on English learning, as well as the students' English learning effects, their satisfaction and their needs for English courses, the corresponding suggestions for improvement are put forward.To adjust the curriculum of public English in colleges and universities, to effectively improve the English level and personal accomplishment of graduates, and to improve the teaching quality of colleges and universities.In this study, 12 graduates from state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, government agencies and foreign-funded enterprises were interviewed.Learn about the needs and use of personal English skills in their industry and position, as well as the reflective suggestions for college public English courses.In addition, a total of 547 valid questionnaires were collected from three universities in Shanghai.The results of the questionnaire survey show that there are several problems in the implementation of public English curriculum: lack of internal motivation, weak English learning ability, poor learning effect, low satisfaction and unsatisfied needs.Based on the results of interviews with graduates and questionnaire survey of college students, this paper summarizes the existing problems in the curriculum of college public English: the curriculum structure is single, the choice space is too small, the curriculum design deviates from the target, and the demand has not yet been met.The content of the course is short of interest, the validity of the examination method is insufficient; the students' input is insufficient, and the learning effect needs to be improved; fourth, the CET-6 backwash teaching, the course tends to be examination-oriented.Based on these problems, colleges and universities should increase foreign language curriculum categories, form a scientific and reasonable curriculum system, improve English teaching content and methods, adjust assessment methods, enrich after-class activities, create a language environment, and strengthen guidance.At the government level, we should speed up the reform of English proficiency examination and push back the curriculum adjustment in colleges and universities.Finally, the shortcomings of the research are reviewed and summarized, and the further research is put forward and prospected.
