学生译员与专业译员英汉交替传译中省略现象的实验报告

【摘要】:口译是一种特殊的语言间信息传递活动,省略现象作为口译实践中的一种普遍现象,既是一种简化策略,又可能造成信息遗失。近年来,有关省略现象的研究多数集中于从认知心理学角度解释同声传译中的简化和信息丢失,而从译员自我意识角度探讨交替传译省略现象的研究尚且较少。本次观察性实验研究,通过对6名学生译员与3名专业译员在英汉交替传译过程中省略现象的描述性分析,探究译员的信息筛选意识,省略策略意识和自我监控与修正意识对口译信息转化的影响。本实验有三个研究问题:第一,受试在英汉交传测试中出现的省略现象是否有意识?第二,学生译员与专业译员分别做出何种类型的省略,是否造成信息遗失?第三,在口译任务不同阶段,学生译员与专业译员省略现象的分布与变化分别有何种规律?数据统计结果显示:1.学生译员与专业译员信息转化忠实度不同的主要原因在于其口译策略意识与错误性省略构成的差异;2.省略现象在语篇发展过程中呈现"中间大,两头小"的趋势,并且专业译员以有意识策略性省略为主,而学生译员错误性省略比重明显增加;3.在语篇发展过程中,口译员能对口译过程进行有意识的监督,对遗失的信息进行不同程度的修正,其中,译员对于非故意省略的修正意识最为强烈。研究发现强化语言结构基础教学和口译实践分析,培养学生译员的信息敏感度,提高口译省略策略意识和自我监控与修正意识,有助于改善口译质量,减少信息遗失。
[Abstract]:As a common phenomenon in interpreting practice, the phenomenon of ellipsis is not only a simplification strategy, but also a loss of information.In recent years, most studies on ellipsis have focused on the interpretation of simplification and information loss in simultaneous interpretation from the perspective of cognitive psychology, while less research has been done on the phenomenon of ellipsis in consecutive interpretation from the perspective of self-awareness of interpreters.Through the descriptive analysis of the ellipsis of 6 student interpreters and 3 professional interpreters in the process of English and Chinese consecutive interpretation, this paper explores the information screening consciousness of the interpreters.The influence of ellipsis strategy consciousness and self-monitoring and correction consciousness on the translation of interpreting information.There are three research questions in this experiment: first, is the ellipsis phenomenon in the English and Chinese cross-transmission test conscious?Second, what types of omissions are made by student interpreters and professional interpreters, and whether the information is lost?Thirdly, what are the rules of the distribution and variation of ellipsis between student interpreters and professional interpreters at different stages of interpreting tasks?The statistics show that: 1.The main reason for the difference in fidelity between student interpreters and professional interpreters lies in the differences in interpretation strategy awareness and error-ellipsis.In the process of discourse development, ellipsis tends to be "big in the middle and small at both ends", and professional interpreters are mainly conscious and strategic ellipsis, while the proportion of error-ellipsis of student interpreters increases significantly.In the process of discourse development, interpreters can consciously supervise the interpretation process and modify the missing information to varying degrees. Among them, the interpreters have the strongest awareness of unintentional omissions.It is found that strengthening the basic teaching of language structure and practical analysis of interpreting, cultivating students' information sensitivity, enhancing the awareness of ellipsis strategy and self-monitoring and correcting consciousness can help to improve the quality of interpretation and reduce the loss of information.
