【摘要】：本文是一篇英汉翻译实践报告。实践报告的原文取自著作《社会科学中的种族理论:种族主义的系统性批判》的前两章内容。此书于2016年4月在劳特利奇出版社出版,作者是美国当代社会学家乔·费金和肖恩·伊莱亚斯。该书针对种族问题,提出了对过去和当今社会的主流种族理论的系统性分析。许多社会学家对于种族问题的看法,对主流种族的分析和社会分析都十分笼统和保守,缺乏批判性。本书两位作者在书中对以往社会学家对种族问题的看法进行了汇总,并提出了自己的见解,使我们能够在一个宏观的角度看待种族问题。此书属于社科类学术著作,翻译过程中难点重重。其中包括:有许多专有名词和引用;原文中存在大量结构复杂的长句;定语从句较多以及针对社科类学术著作的特点,如何在译文中再现其通顺性、逻辑性和严谨性,如何让译文读者能够更好地读懂译文。译者针对翻译过程中遇到的困难,从深度翻译,长句翻译,定语从句的翻译,以及如何把握句子的通顺性这四部分,结合例句的分析,阐述解决相应困难的翻译策略。通过此次翻译,笔者收获了很多。首先,通过翻译实践了解到社会科学中的种族问题以及研究视角;其次,提高了笔者的翻译水平并积累了翻译经验;最后,通过翻译报告的撰写,旨在为社科类学术文本的翻译提供适用的翻译方法。
[Abstract]:This paper is a practical report on English-Chinese translation. The original text of the practice report is taken from the first two chapters of Race Theory in Social Sciences: systematic criticism of racism. The book was published in April 2016 at Lauterich by Joe Fagin and Sean Elias, contemporary sociologists in the United States. The book presents a systematic analysis of the mainstream racial theories in the past and today. Many sociologists' views on race, the analysis of mainstream race and social analysis are very general and conservative, lack of critical. In the book, the two authors summarize the views of previous sociologists on race and present their own views, which enable us to look at race from a macro perspective. This book belongs to the social science academic work, the translation process is full of difficulties. These include: many proper nouns and citations; a large number of long sentences with complex structures in the original text; more attributive clauses and how to reproduce their smoothness, logic and rigor in the translation, in view of the characteristics of academic works in social sciences, How to make the target readers better understand the translation. In view of the difficulties encountered in the process of translation, the translator expounds the translation strategies for solving the corresponding difficulties from the four parts of deep translation, translation of long sentences, translation of attributive clauses, and how to grasp the smoothness of sentences. Through this translation, the author has gained a lot. First of all, through translation practice to understand the racial problems in social science and the perspective of research; secondly, improve the author's translation skills and accumulate translation experience; finally, through the writing of translation reports. The purpose is to provide suitable translation methods for the translation of academic texts of social sciences.
