中国成年英语学习者的语音意识与听力理解的关系

【摘要】:Phonological awareness在我国学术界中被译为语音意识,它素来被使用字母语言,尤其是拉丁文字的学界重视,因其与儿童早年的阅读成绩有密不可分的相互促进作用。近年来,学界发现语音意识不仅仅对母语及二语阅读有影响,和口头语言加工也有极大的联系,其中音位意识与言语感知有着重要联系。同时,语音意识的研究目标群体也由儿童转向大学生等成年的学习者。但是二语学习者中的成年大学生的语音意识与听力理解的关系尚未被涉及。本研究通过对本科生及研究生等成年英语学习者进行测试,探索语音意识与听力水平在该学习者群体中是否具有相关性。自愿参加本研究所有测试的35名成年学生主要来自北京地区的两所大学,一所为外语院校,另一所是体育学校。测试中包含了听力理解、音系成分的合并、分离、删除、与假词拼写等五项任务。结果显示,中国大学生与研究生的听力水平总体欠缺,大部分学生的语音意识水平存在巨大的发展空间。总体结果表明,中国成年英语学习者的语音意识、假词拼写、听力理解两两之间呈现较显著的正相关性,其中语音意识通过假词拼写间接地影响听力理解。根据听力理解的成绩受试被分成高中低三组,中低水平组合并统计的语音意识与听力理解呈现较显著的相关性。通过回归模型的建立,在中低水平组学生中发现语音意识和听力理解呈现双向显著的相关。
[Abstract]:Phonological awareness has been translated into phonological consciousness in Chinese academic circles. It has always been paid attention to by the scholars of alphabetical language, especially Latin characters, because it is closely related to children's early reading achievement. In recent years, scholars have found that phonological awareness not only has an impact on mother tongue and second language reading, but also has a great relationship with oral language processing, among which phonological awareness has an important relationship with speech perception. At the same time, the target group of phonological awareness has shifted from children to adult learners such as college students. However, the relationship between phonological awareness and listening comprehension of adult college students has not been involved. In this study, adult English learners, such as undergraduates and postgraduates, were tested to explore the correlation between phonological awareness and listening proficiency. The 35 adult students who volunteered to take part in the study mainly came from two universities in Beijing, one for foreign languages and the other for physical education. The test includes five tasks: listening comprehension, phonological combination, separation, deletion, and spelling of false words. The results show that the listening level of Chinese college students and graduate students is generally deficient, and the phonological awareness level of most of the students has great room for development. The overall results show that there is a significant positive correlation between phonological awareness false word spelling and listening comprehension of Chinese adult English learners. Phonological awareness indirectly affects listening comprehension through phonetic spelling. According to the scores of listening comprehension, the subjects were divided into three groups. Through the establishment of regression model, it was found that phonological awareness was significantly correlated with listening comprehension in middle and low level students.
