功能对等理论视角下的城市外宣材料汉译英研究

【摘要】:世界经济全球化是大势所趋,是不可抗拒的。经济全球化带来了市场的一体化,也导致了文化的全球化。受经济全球化影响,中国与世界其他国家的交流与合作已成常态。对外宣传作为中国与其他国家之间沟通的桥梁,在当今发挥着非常重要的作用。中国城市飞速发展,吸引了众多国外人士的目光。可以预见,未来在中国城市,外国人的面孔将越来越常见。为了让外国人对中国城市有更好的了解,中国城市外宣工作以及相应外宣材料的翻译应当加强。这也有利于提升国家形象。尤金·A·奈达的功能对等理论是当代世界上最著名的翻译理论之一。该理论的提出是为了确保翻译的充分性。根据该理论,目标语读者把所得到的译文理解到什么样的程度显得非常重要。在中国,许多英语学者运用功能对等理论来研究汉英翻译或英汉翻译。其翻译所涉及的题材多种多样。本次研究就是在功能对等理论的指导下进行的。本次研究搜索并分析了不同类型的城市外宣材料。通过研究,可以发现城市外宣具备几个主要功能,也具备多种语言特点。本次研究对城市外宣材料的汉英翻译进行了分析。指出了翻译这类材料时应考虑的问题,也指出了相关的现时容易出现的错误。本文也总结了一些城市外宣材料的翻译策略。希望这些内容对我国的翻译人员能有帮助。
[Abstract]:The globalization of the world economy is the trend of the times and irresistible. Economic globalization has brought about the integration of market and culture. Under the influence of economic globalization, China's exchanges and cooperation with the rest of the world have become the norm. As a bridge between China and other countries, publicity plays a very important role today. The rapid development of Chinese cities has attracted the attention of many foreign people. It is foreseeable that the faces of foreigners will become more and more common in Chinese cities in the future. In order for foreigners to have a better understanding of Chinese cities, the translation of Chinese urban publicity materials and corresponding materials should be strengthened. This is also conducive to raising the image of the country. Eugene A. Nida's functional equivalence theory is one of the most famous translation theories in the contemporary world. The purpose of this theory is to ensure the adequacy of translation. According to this theory, it is very important for the target language readers to understand the target text. In China, many English scholars use functional equivalence theory to study Chinese-English translation or English-Chinese translation. Its translation involves a variety of subjects. This research is conducted under the guidance of functional equivalence theory. This study searched and analyzed different types of urban publicity materials. Through the research, it can be found that the city publicity has several main functions, but also has a variety of language characteristics. This study analyzes the translation of urban publicity materials into Chinese and English. The problems to be taken into account in the translation of such materials are also pointed out. This paper also summarizes the translation strategies of some urban publicity materials. I hope these contents will be helpful to the translators of our country.
