从蒙娜·贝克叙事理论看《家》沙译本中的叙事建构策略

传统的叙事理论属于结构主义的范畴,研究文本内部的叙事结构和规律。随着西方“泛叙事”思潮的兴起,叙事呈现跨学科趋势,开始关注社会历史语境与叙事结构之间的关系,而蒙娜·贝克就是其中的代表之一。2006年,她在《翻译与冲突:叙事性阐释》一书中创造性地将来自社会学和交际学的叙事理论与翻译研究结合起来,认为翻译是一种再叙事,强调翻译对文化交流、政治局势产生的重要作用。在翻译过程中,译者、出版社、编辑和其他参与者根据叙事立场,通过不同的策略来强化、削弱或改变隐含在原话语中的某些内容,重新调整叙事特征,从而实现在目标语文本中的叙事建构。本文在蒙娜·贝克叙事理论的指导下,研究《家》沙博理译本中采取的叙事建构策略,分析翻译在叙事建构中产生的效果和作用,探讨译本叙事与社会现实叙事之间的动态关系,进而揭示建构行为背后的深层动因。通过研究,本文发现在宏观上,出版社立足于西方语境,选择沙博理这位具有双重身份的外来译者翻译《家》,引起西方读者的阅读兴趣,同时译者通过在译文中对“叛逆”主题的再现,引发读者共鸣,实现了译本的时空建构;在具体的翻译过程中,译者通过删除不利信息,增加解释性和表明立场的内容,加深了读者的理...
