《大英殖民帝国》（第十、十一章）汉译实践报告

　　16世纪至20世纪初叶,英国对外进行殖民扩张,其资本得到大量积累,同时也导致了亚非拉地区发展的滞后。英国的殖民扩张运动对世界近代历史、政治、经济的演变有着重大影响,但从多个角度对此进行综合研究的书籍较少。英国作家阿尔弗雷德·考尔德科特于1891年出版《大英殖民帝国》一书,全方位、深层次地对英国及其他欧洲国家的殖民扩张运动进行客观公正的阐述。本次翻译任务选自《大英殖民帝国》中的第十章“人种”与第十一章“教育与宗教”。本翻译实践报告共分为五个章节。首先简要说明了本次翻译任务的背景和重要性。随后从词汇、句法及文本层面对原文本进行分析,并列出委托方对本次翻译任务的时间与质量上的要求。作者以文本分析为基础,利用中国知网（CNKI）和谷歌学术等在线学术资源,查询与原文作者阿尔弗雷德·考尔德科特、英国殖民史及其对殖民地教育与宗教的影响的相关背景资料。作者选择《世界地名翻译大辞典》、《世界人名翻译大辞典》等专业词典以保证翻译文本的准确性。为了更好理解历史文本的翻译风格,作者阅读并分析了《百年战争简史》和《狄更斯讲英国史》等平行文本。在耶夫·维索尔伦提出的顺应论的指导下,作者完成翻译实践,并通过自校、他...
