翻译转换理论视角下《大英殖民帝国》（第七章）汉译实践报告

　　1588年,英国击败西班牙无敌舰队,成为第二个“日不落帝国”。享誉世界的英国史学家阿尔弗雷德·考尔德科特借《大英殖民帝国》一书从战争、政府、经济、劳动力、种族、教育和宗教等方面展现了大英帝国殖民画卷,本实践报告则以《大英殖民帝国》第七章“帝国政府”的翻译为基础。原文介绍了西班牙、葡萄牙、荷兰和法国等早期殖民帝国的统治和各类英属殖民地及其发展前景。译者借助平行文本、工具书以及线上工具,通过译后校改与评价进一步提高译文质量。本实践报告共分为五章:第一章介绍任务背景、目的及意义;第二章从词法、句法和语篇等方面对原文特点进行描述;第三章分译前、译中和译后三个阶段阐述本次翻译过程;第四章结合卡特福德提出的翻译转换理论对具体案例加以分析;第五章就本次翻译实践给出结论。在翻译转换理论的指导下,本实践报告进一步分析了时态、语态、虚拟语气、复数形式、比较级、句子成分、词性的转换,以及主语突出到主题突出、从句和短语到完整句子的转换。同时,由于翻译转换理论中的系统内转换只存在于同一语系的不同语言中,本报告对其在英译汉翻译实践中的局限性也进行了陈述。译者经本次翻译实践对英属殖民地政府、翻译转换理论和翻译步骤有...
