英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达的对比研究

【摘要】：虚拟位移(fictive motion)是指以动态事物为基本参照点的结构来系统而广泛地描述静态场景的语言现象(Talmy 2000a:104).虚拟位移表达是指用位移动词对静态空间场景进行的主观描写。感知散射类虚拟位移是语言中常见的一种虚拟位移,包含视觉、听觉、嗅觉和触觉散射虚拟位移。这一类虚拟位移是指某一无形的事物在感知者和被感知事物之间的直线移动。论文以来自英语BNC语料库、汉语CCL语料库和著名的文学杂志《十月》中的语料为例证,基于Talmy的词汇化模式理论,选取英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达中的位移主体和背景、位移路径和位移方式作为比照点,采用描写和解释相结合的方法,首先对英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达的特点分别进行描写,找出异同点,然后对其异同点做出解释。通过比较和分析英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达异同点之后,本文尝试将词汇化模式理论应用于翻译实践中。研究发现,英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达在构建上既有相似性,但也有差异性。其相似性表现在位移主体和背景的选取上。英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达中位移主体和背景表现出相似的特点,即与视线、声音、气味和气流相关。在英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达中,位移路径都可以由路径动词、介词和附加词来表达。但英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达对复杂路径的描写存在差异性,汉语必须使用多个单独的动词来分别表达每个路径成分,而英语可以采用单个动词携带多个介词的方式对路径进行描写。在英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达中,位移方式都可以由方式动词和副词来表达。但英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达对精细的位移方式描写也存在差异性,英语使用一个高精细度的方式动词,而汉语通常使用一个普通的方式动词和副词来表达精细的位移方式。通过对比和分析得出英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达的相似性和差异性之后,本文试图将Talmy的词汇化模式理论应用到翻译实践指导中。本文就感知散射类虚拟位移表达中位移路径和位移方式在英汉翻译中如何处理进行了初步探讨。由于英汉感知散射类虚拟位移表达对复杂的位移路径和精细的位移方式的描写存在差异性,在翻译过程中必需进行适当的投射处理。从英汉对比的角度研究感知散射类虚拟位移可以加深我们对于这个语言现象的认识,也可以为语言教学和英汉互译等方面的研究提供帮助。
