[Abstract]:This paper is the translation practice report of the Chinese local novel "the Story of the Arctic Village", which involves the first part of the novel. "the Story of the Arctic Village" explains the strange and mysterious arctic life of Mohe Village in Northeast China from the perspective of children. The novel is about the protagonist's childhood when he was foster home in the Arctic Village at the age of seven. This book is a novella written by Chi Zijian based on his own real experience. The author conveys his love of the black land in Northeast China and his thoughts on human nature by describing the local customs and customs. This novel is a typical Chinese local literature with strong local flavor and distinctive language personality. Its content and subject matter are attractive to foreign readers. The overseas propaganda of Chinese native literature has been widely concerned by the translation circle and has achieved good results overseas. At the same time, the translation of local literature into English is facing a great challenge. The local charm is the product of the historical and cultural accumulation in a particular place, and can not be duplicated. In addition, due to the great differences between Chinese and western cultures, it is sometimes difficult to find the corresponding cultural phenomenon in English. Therefore, reproducing the native flavor of the original work has become the biggest difficulty in translation. Based on the translation practice of Arctic Village Fairy Tales, this paper explores the corresponding translation strategies. The present report covers five parts. In the first part, the translator introduces the background and practical significance of the practice report. The second part is the task description, including the author and the work brief, the text characteristic and the translation theory. The third part is a description of the translation process, including pre-translation preparation, translation phase and post-translation issues. The fourth part is the case analysis, which is the focus of this translation report. Under the guidance of Andre Lefevere's rewriting theory, the translator will deal with the problems in translation by adding, deleting and replacing the translation method to reproduce the charm of the native culture of the original work. The fifth part summarizes the achievements of the translation practice and the unsolved problems and puts forward some suggestions for the future research.
